Mission Statement
Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.
My brother spotted a litter of coyote pups at his neighbor's barn. Coyotes usually raise their pups in the woods. There is no one living in the farn house. So I guess the mother coyote seized the opportunity to raise her pups in an empty barn. I used my 300 mm lens to take this shot. The pups did not appear to be frightened by me being only 200 yards away on the road.

Otter pups can't dive unless mom pulls them under until they shed their initial fur called lanugo at about 13 weeks old. Instead they look like a little furry cork floating on top of the water.
12-8-08 Trouble has found his new home and a new name. Hooray for this sweetie! 11-22-08 Hi I'm Trouble and I just got here to cold Maine a few days ago... My foster mom thinks my pictures dont do me justice as to how cute I am, I have a little boxer nub for a tail and my whole butt just wiggles when I'm happy... She also says that I'm pretty smart. I just got here and I've almost got "sit" down pat. She thinks I'm like an overgrown Boston Terrier, maybe a bit of boxer, I'm about 7-8 months, I'm about 25 lbs and could use some food but wont get too much bigger, and I'm still very puppyish.... well I just can't help that... I mean i've had a rough start, got lost during Hurricane Gustav and then traveled alot of miles, beat that Parvo virus thing, stayed in a shelter and .... She said something about me being "high energy" well I guess that means I just want to play, play, play. I need someone who is going to be around to help me learn my manners because I missed out on those lessons while down south. I do ok with going outside sometimes I just forget. I'm getting along with my foster mom's big bulldog who's huge compared to me ( don't tell him but I regularly kick his butt) and my foster sister (who I like to pick on). I'm the instigator and the finisher... I'd be a good second dog in the house as long as I can try and be top dog or there's a dog to show me rules (I keep hearing that word "rules" but don't have a clue what it means). I like to run, play tug, am interested in tennis balls and stuffy toys that I can shake my head with. I ride well in the car but probably need to stay in my crate in the car until I get a bit older.. Plus I really like to bark loud when people walk by the car or when I hear sounds outside or people come to the door. Oh back to my manners thing... I do ok on the leash but pull a bit.. my foster mom says we're going to work on that. Oh and I really don't care for other dogs getting near my bag of food. I'm ok once its in the bowl as long as you let me have my space when eating... Can you blame me? I mean I wasn't always sure there was going to be food... I also like to eat my foster siblings' food too so someone might have to show me how this whole dinner thing works. Cuz Im still a pup my teeth are kinda sharp and sometimes I forget that those are your fingers and not a toy... My mom says that's part of learning my manners. Even with me still having some things to learn I'm a very cuddly boy. I also got a bath yesterday because I didn't smell very good and my mom thinks that I did great with that. I guess I just need someone to spend a bit of time with me and I'm really smart so I promise to be a good student and learn quick. I just want to get to my forever home!!!! Don't let his name scare you off ! Please email us for an application so you can come and meet this cutie!
ok.. so they are no longer little wee puppies. but that is what i call them most of the time. we have quite a few other names for them.. but i won't go there now.
taken about a week ago.. the afternoon sun shining in our office was just perfect. i think joe was making some strange noises out in the yard... and they just weren't sure what to think of it. they dashed out there soon after this was taken.

hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
The pups were attentively following their mother to the nearest safety away from me.....
