" ..This is it,folx.. the 5th round of never endin' battle for the Spaze Caze's mind.. !! That's right.. place yir samoleans on the table,folx..smash 'em up with a mallet n' let 'em all flatten out to make the 10 million dollar griddle-cake bets !! Get Don King's psychiatrist on the phone..Mike Tyson,Glass Joe,Bald Bull,King Hippo,Kalimari Kid,Dreaderick Tatum,Fat Tony,Bluto,Gashouse Gorilla, & a George Foreman-grill Ham n' Cheese Sammich Melt..ain' none of them liable to top the mania in this fight. Ain' none of 'ems head gonna spin or block's gonna get knocked off more batty n' bloody than the ear-bitin' big-battle for the very, very small brain !!

They Gonna Put you in the Trance wit' the hoochie-coochie dance !!

In this corner .. hailin' from the bottomest fathoms of a schizo's delusions,Yomi..and past the furthest corners of hell n' tarnation where Satan himself put's all the politicians, molesters & televangelists ..at an indecernable weight ..the maniacal

oni who looks like demon pepperoni.. the one & only ..:

THE MADDNEZZ

In this corner .. the abandoned invader ..claiming in from Cud Know's where in the Zeta Sector of outer space..the underdawg ..thr Kmart Kid,the gutsy lil' guy with a heart of mold, the Egg head who's cracked, the schizo-alien who'd rather go home than be here (that's if he had a home..),Punched in the 20 too-many times, slammed in the gut n' run over by a tractor and a whale creatin' one of the longest run-on-sentences n' introductions in all of bipolar-boxing history ..he's not a man..he's alien (..really a mouse) ..weighin' in at a scrappy-doo 135 pounds..he's number 2 so he tries harder.. :

The SPAZE CAZE ..

Til' now the Maddnezz has had the upper hand.. err.. 'Utter' .. busked right in the mush, slomped, stomped, tromped, bopped, popped, hit, bit bloody n' bruised..Spaze got more head trauma in this fight alone ..than a veteran game of Whack-a-mole. He's fighter..yeh.. just a dime;ten cents he'd do the Hoochie-coochie dance ..but it was the bum old prance so they kept the money in their pants (among other things..hot dog!!.. Armour hot dog..)!!

OO ..i tells ya..by round 4 the Spaze Caze was down for the count !! The Maddnezz had 'im in a head lock and a dead-lock and a Choo-Choo Carlie Chang Chang.. looked like th' musky lil' martian was headin' to the big Chuck E. Cheese & a psych-ward in

the sky.

Maddnezz is one nasty palooka.. but the commish pretty much threw out all the rules of this out the window..(mostly cuz everyone was to scared to go back to the ring-side..)!!

In a clinch..in a bind.. Spaze Caze - the bleeder got the second-wind,popped a couple pep-pills,got all gazookas and pulled his top-secret illegal maneuver ..

"The Hyper-Hooplah-Hover-punch HOOK" ..

..nothin' to flashy..but enuff' to pop n' fly n' bop The Maddnezz with a flyin' big bomb-body blow..n' get the alien back in the fight !!

Hot Dog !! We have a Weiner !!

But's it's gonna take more n' fancy footwork and a couple few fancy jabs to survive round 5.. four down..n' a million billion-gazillion to go!!

They ain' showin' this on Pay-Per-View or headlinin' at the MGM Grand !! Nope..this Paper-view battle is only caught in the theaters of the mind..( And the hearts and minds of all those who are wonderful..). Can out tomato can tin-weight beat Maddnezz in the big battle ?! Will the devilish Oni take the brain-title away and all that's left of Spaze's heart and humanity and take the Alien down to the 8-count !? Will this ramblin' stop n' someone shove a big fat tomato or shut-up sucker punch in the promoter's mouthpiece?!

Ya gotta be a moron to wanna be in this fight.. fight like butterfly..hit like a girl !! Adrian, go down n' tell Minnie.."Mickey's Mouse is a MAN-boy..& just kinda squirrelly." Yeh .. the big battle rages on like the Song that doesn't end..(Yep ..it goes on and on,my friend..but don't get me stareted !!).

Will Spaze make it to round 6 !?

Dunno ..but Spaze Caze loves ya with all his heart.."

Materials: Background paper from thepaperpear (Thanks!); butterfly and flower punchouts from tammybeck (Thanks!); tangram pieces (cardstock and various paper scraps).

The staircase between floors in the old jailhouse shows more of those asterisk-shaped punchouts. The whole place is rusting, but despite years of neglect and abandonment it all feels pretty solid to walk around in.

A combination of all the figs I have been working on. Hopefully it does justice to such an amazing game. I tried to stay purist, but some characters required paint and other mods to perfect them. Mario is a custom printed figure by EclipseGrafx.

Sometimes I get to work with the most soft and lovely things.

365 - Day 90

Experimenting with some backgrounds found in Adobe Exchange. I had no idea what Adobe Exchange was until I watched a tutorial by Glyn Dewis on Youtube. Apparently it's exactly like an app store for Photoshop CC users. This particular app is called Adobe Paper Texture Pro. It comes with some awesome textures that are perfect for composite backgrounds. The best part is they are all free! There are some paid apps but plenty of free ones too. This is an old image of a Tracy showing off her gloves. Can't wait to have some more fun with these backgrounds! Lit with a beauty dish above and reflect below and barely camera left. Two rim light with gridded softboxes to help separate her and create the composite. www.nakean.com

After about two years and almost 80,000 x's, my Super Mega Punch Out Project is finished. It measures about 12" by 28" so it's pretty big and I have yet to find a frame that will actually fit it. I really don"t want to spend $150 to custom frame it so I'm not sure where it's going to go yet. I'm kind of sad to see it finished because now I have nothing to do. :( Patterns for all the characters can be found on Sprite Stitch:http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=19

Ok! So I might have gone a little crazy with heart punchouts today. I just really wanted a break from rerooting dolls for a few days, but boredome overtook me.

I punched out LOTS of these suckers from several "innards" of the boxes. It was SO much fun though!

Personally my fav of the 2 Mario Bros... It's Green Mario! Jk, Luigi.

The cowardly, ghost-busting, younger bro of Mario has been made into LEGO form!

Luigi was a bit difficult, especially the head. I took a rocket piece, put some clay around it, painted it up, and added a custom face decal I made....*pant*... A normal LEGO head made him look like Mario WAAAY too much, so I had to see what I could do with what I had. I also wanted to give him a pale face to reflect on his popularity being over shadowed by Mario (spoiler alert)....

The Green Thunder was based in design off his Smash 4 appearance. Though he has blue-ish, purple overalls (a reference to SMW), they look blue because of the lighting :(

Here he is, the King of the virtual ring himself, Little Maaaaaaaaaaaaaac!!!!!!

Anyway, he uses specially molded boxing gloves since I didn't have any. He uses the 2014 Nightwing hair piece, and he has custom face decals.

Mainly based on Smash 4, but has certain details from the Wii version of Punch Out.

Scrapbook Materials: 12x12 paper, chipboard frame and punchouts, Thickers puffy coral letters, ribbon, felt flower, buttons, brads, paint chips, Rainbow Brite storybook pages, softies, stickers, black sharpie, die-cut paper, photograph.

DOLLS IN LINE: Colonial; Pilgrim; Pioneer

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Although I absolutely love the colonial inspiration behind this Barbie, I have to admit that the 1995 wave of American Stories dolls came with cooler stuff. These 1994 dolls didn't have any additional cardboard punchouts. I also feel like this Barbie's dress isn't quite as nice quality as some of the others. Granted, the details are stunning. The satin material is the only thing about it that isn't the best structurally. However, I think this fabric selection benefited my doll, since she was dirty inside her box. Clearly, whoever owned her previously didn't mind their boxed dolls well. The plastic had gone a brownish yellow, and the cardboard was starting to fall apart. The white bonnet was speckled with some brownish stains. Since this dress is satin and doesn't stain easily, it was spared damage. In fact, this fabric is ideal to dust, since it doesn't absorb the dust...rather you can just wipe it off. I did of course launder and wash everything you see here. It smelled odd and was all questionable. This blue color does wonders with Barbie's golden blonde hair. All my American Stories dolls for the most part come with some color variation of these flats. This gal was no exception. Her accessory is special though. I love how you can separate out the "wooden" pieces from the fabric Barbie is cross stitching. The two pieces lock together nicely, so Barbie can actually hold up her creation. I will say that the sticker on the fabric looks a little cheap. It would have been cool if it was embroidered, but obviously she was a budget collector doll.

Punchout. The mannequin/punching bag thing had it coming!

Punchout.

MISSING ITEMS: 6 tickets, cardboard trophy, cardboard bouquet, 2 cardboard makeup pallets

PERSONAL FUN FACT: It seems that the mid to late 80s was a very popular time frame for ballet inspired dolls. I have versions of My First Barbies from different years who also are styled in ballerina costumes. Plus, there was an entire line of fashion packs made for the My First Barbie franchise, which also showcased ballet outfits. This is not one of the better quality ensembles in my collection. The leotard is fairly thick and stretchy, but the tutu reminds me of something you’d find on a clone doll. In fact, if it had not been on my minty Barbie at the local Salvation Army, I may have written the tutu off as being made for a knockoff. It turned out to be a great thing that I acquired this Barbie when I did. A few weeks later, Colleen and I purchased a $15 lot of Barbie clothes at the local flea market. Inside were two of these My First Barbie tutus and the corresponding ballet slippers (what a coincidence!). As for the leotards, I didn’t get those in the bin sadly. Barbie had clearly never been undressed from this ensemble when I first brought her home. She had tape residue and dry rotted elastics fused to her slippers and hairbow. I will say, I am sad that I didn’t acquire her cardboard punchouts. As a kid, I was such a sucker for cardboard doll accessories, and I know for a fact that other My First Barbies came with some really cool ones!

And here's the gif though flickr has mucked up the static image.

to see it properly you'll need to select the original size for it to work.

Made this three years ago in like July something 2008... I think. Has all buttons and ports. It can fit in a real game cartridge.

This is the companion piece to my earlier drawing called "Brother".

I was interested in playing with the idea of purportedly specific physical traits from one race bounced off of specific physical traits from another. I was particularly interested in exploring the idea fo a black man in white face and the cognitive dissonance that comes from seeing such a thing (see the Wayans Brothers' film "White Girls").

I created this drawing as a companion piece for "Brother". I took the ridiculousness of the stereotypical cartooning in "Brother" and pushed it a little farther by putting the black man in whiteface with blonde hair and blue eyes while keeping the drawing of the face the same. The pieces are meant to hang side by side so the figures face each other, mouths agape, in a somewhat comical, stunned silence.

With these two pieces, I sought to humorously examine the importance or not of the differences that can sometimes separate people, despite essential similarites. Skin color difference is a difference, but how important is that difference? What comes first, the differences or the attitudes that separate us? Does this discussion inform our understanding of other differences?
