Darda (toy)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Darda is the name of a German toy car racing set (and related items) which was most popular in Europe and the USA throughout the '80s and '90s."
"The unique selling point of the sets was the special Darda Motor, invented by Helmut Darda in 1970, propelled the Matchbox/Hot Wheels-sized cars at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h). The pullback motor was wound up by pressing down the rear of the car and rolling it forwards and backwards on its wheels. Whilst winding the car up the motor clicks and once fully wound the tone of clicks deepen to signify that it can be wound no more."

A High or Low 2 is one of the most reliable With Trend setups. If a trade fails, there will usually be at least two more corrective legs before a High or Low 4 once again tries to end the correction. If a High or Low 4 fails, the pullback might have become a new trend, and further price action...

Quneitra was once a bustling town in the Golan Heights and southwestern Syria's administrative capital with a population of 37,000. The word Quneitra derives from Qantara, or 'bridge', between Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Known for its abundant water resources, it has been continuously inhabited since the Stone Age. Over the millennia, many peoples, including Arameans, Assyrians, Caldeans, Persians, Greeks, and Arabs have occupied it. St. Paul, it is said, passed through Quneitra on his way from Damascus to Jerusalem.
In 1967, during the six-day war, Israel captured Quneitra. It then became a site of many battles but, except for a brief interlude, remained in Israeli hands until 1974, when a UN-brokered agreement led to an Israeli pullback. Before withdrawing, however, Quneitra was evacuated and systematically destroyed by the Israeli army (based on eyewitness accounts; UN General Assembly resolution 3240 in 1974 condemned Israel's role in its destruction. Israel disputes this account). Many prominent Western reporters, agreeing with the UN and Syrian version of events, saw this as nothing short of an act of wanton brutality — a whole town methodically ransacked, dynamited, and bulldozed.

When it comes to Indian produced diecasts I usually struggle to think of any other than the long defunct Nicky Toys and Maxwell, neither feature in my collection due to their rarity and high values. In the back of my head I think I had heard of Centy Toys but their products are usually of a large scale and of course availability not good so i've never thought much about them.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered on Ebay that a UK importer actually brings in the Centy Toys range including an assortment of 1/64 scale castings. Very well priced and very realistic considering they are technically unlicensed such as this SUV which they call a "BTZ-DC" but is in actual fact an extremely lightly disguised Indian built Suzuki Vitara Brezza. You'll find decent levels of detailing all round, a pullback and go mechanism, full interior and realistic alloy effect wheels.

AMZ Toys/Aimingzheng are yet another new Chinese brand to enter my collection but their products are a million miles away from the usual crude and simplified Hot Wheels and Matchbox copies you'd expect.
This Bentley, i'm presuming its meant to be a Continental GT3, totally belies its unlicensed status and could easily pass as something legit if it had badging. Reminding me very much of a Majorette Premium in terms of features and size and thats very much meant as a compliment. A rather complete package with opening doors and rear hatch and although it may lack working suspension it does possess decent looking wheels and a pullback function.
Sourced VERY cheaply from China recently.

I'm not sure why I have these and when I opened the box to see Matchbox I was surprised to see these on top of the box. I forgot I had them. There was a toy store going out of business and I got these on sale. Fun to see all the different options.
If you view large you can read the entire back panel.
Despite having a cheeky handful of Peugeot 206 models in my collection the majority of them are based on the three door WRC rather than the standard five door which most people probably remember. Welly took the initiative in producing one for their 1/60 line and predictably did a superb job for its budget price point and one they STILL produce in exactly the same shade of metallic light green I first bought back in the early 2010's!
This newly produced example was found unexpectedly in a small toy section of a large bookshop in Spain and has the added bonus of all round detailing and a pullback motor.

nrhp # 66000824- Also known as Fort Belknap State Park- Fort Belknap, located near Newcastle, Texas, was established in November 1851[3] by brevet Brigadier William G. Belknap to protect the Texas frontier against raids by the Kiowa and Comanche. It was the northernmost fort in a line from the Rio Grande to the Red River. The fort functioned as a base of operations rather than as a fortified point, and it became the center of a substantial network of roads, including the Butterfield Overland Mail.
Other forts in the frontier fort system were Forts Griffin, Concho, Richardson, Chadbourne, Fort Stockton, Fort Davis, Fort Bliss, McKavett, Clark, Fort McIntosh, Fort Inge and Phantom Hill in Texas, and Fort Sill in Oklahoma.[4] There were "sub posts or intermediate stations" including Bothwick's Station on Salt Creek between Fort Richardson and Fort Belknap, Camp Wichita near Buffalo Springs between Fort Richardson and Red River Station, and Mountain Pass between Fort Concho and Fort Griffin.[3]
Some notable officers who were stationed at Fort Belknap include Captain Randolph B. Marcy and Lieutenant George B. McClellan. Together, the officers explored the Canadian River and found the headwaters of the Red River. The Second Cavalry was headquartered here in 1858.[5]:210
Prior to the outbreak of the American Civil War the post was abandoned, partly as a pullback of Federal troops to the north, and partly due to the fort's unreliable water supply. "Northern indians fell upon the hapless Texas frontier with such violence that a whole tier of frontier counties was disbanded..."[5]:291 Families remaining in Young County "huddled in the abandoned buildings of Fort Belknap" and "during snow storms sought shelter in the abandoned buildings."[5]:291
The fort was briefly re-occupied in 1867, then abandoned for the last time.[6]
The fort was gradually dismantled for building materials, so that by 1936 only the magazine and part of the cornhouse remained. Beginning with the Texas Centennial, portions of the fort were rebuilt and restored. mostly on their original foundations. The fort is home to the Fort Belknap Archives, which houses records from North Texas.

Xiao La Car are quite rightly proud of their city bus casting, so much so that they've given it a full array of different colours and indeed also make an open top double decker version too!
It is of course an unlicensed effort though i'm sure it must be based on a real vehicle due to its neat European styling but unfortunately as of yet I haven't conclusively identified which one!
A sturdy little piece for its budget price point with a metal lower body and the rest plastic. Well detailed both inside and out and also comes with a pullback function for added play value.

After two years of ordering my first one on AliExpress i've finally got around to sourcing all the other colours available for this casting. Made by a company called Xiao La Car, I believe theres also a connection to the Peng Ying brand too, its a very pleasing and substantial feeling model of a modern city bus.
I refuse to believe its design is entirely generic as its too believable but after all these years i'm still no wiser as to what its actually based on. MAN Lion's perhaps?
For a low cost diecast its well detailed with no skimping on its interior which somehow manages to disguise a pullback motor plus painted detailing to front and rear lights.

Although Japan is an absolute treasure trove for diecast collectors its not so good for weird people like me who like to get their cheapo Chinese fix. With so many decent brands at sensible prices I suppose there isn't much need for them over there though their famous Daiso discount store did actually yield some.
As most items they sell are 100 Yen which is the equivalent of just 50p my expectations weren't particularly high so I was surprised to find a series of cheap and chunky Matchbox copies at some of their branches. There is no indication of who made this as only the Daiso name appears on the packaging and printed onto the baseplate but its clear its a knock off of the original Matchbox Airport Fire Tanker.
Amazingly the mysterious Chinese manufacturer has managed to get rid of that angry face appearance of the MBX original and replace it with something a lot more friendly. Those cute white round headlights probably helping.
A decent metal content for something so cheap plus it features a pullback function and wheels which almost look premium!
