This is a photograph from the 3rd annual running of the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 5th February 2017 at 12:00. The race attracted over 1,200 participants which shows a 100% increase on last year's participation. The event shows growth year on year mirroring the growing popularity of the race. The race started on the Trim/Athboy road on the town's ring road and proceded to take an anti-clockwise loop out towards the village of Dunderry and townland of Kilbride before returning back to the Trim Industrial Estate for the finish. The route is held on quiet country roads with some hills at 3, 6, 8 mile segments.

Our full set of photos from mile 1 and the finish are at: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157679859593016

The weather for this year's race was perfect for racing. There was a hard frost overnight but this brought clear bright skies and crisp air. There was no real wind to speak of.

Waterstops were provided at the 4.5 and 7 mile marks on the course. All access roads were well stewarded. The event was sponsored by Bewleys 1840 and many local business establishments. Credit must go to the Trim AC team for their flawless organisation. If the first three years of this year are anything to go on then this race will continue to grow. For runners around the North Leinster area this 10 mile race serves as a perfect training progress stepping stone to the Bohermeen Half Marathon which will take place in March 2016 and is located only 15 minutes drive from Trim.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

This is a photograph from the annual Ardagh Moydow Glen Community Games 5KM and 10 Mile road races, fun runs, walks and challenges which were held in the heritage village of Ardagh, Co. Longford, Ireland on Saturday 30th December 2017 at 13:00. This year's race featured the change from last year's race where the race seen the introduction of chip timing, a new start and finish in the middle of the village at the community center and, a slightly amended route.

We have an extensive set of photographs from the race start and the finish on our Flickr photostream set at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157688852560892

The 10 mile race takes in the local 'Ardagh Mountain' which is a 1 mile continuous climb starting at the 2.5 mile mark of the 10 mile race. There is, of course, then the reward of a long down-hill stretch after the summit. The remainder of the race is The 5KM race takes a loop around the heritage village of Ardagh. Overall this is a very well organised race with accurate courses, good marshalling and traffic control and excellent after race refreshments. The 10 mile race is one of the longest road races held during the Christmas period anywhere in Ireland and has appeal to runners who want to add a longer distance race to their festive calendar of running.

The weather at this year's race was very cold and windy. The rain managed to stay away but a very cold northerly breeze certainly made conditions cold. Whatever wind advantage there was for the runners was not experienced until the second half of the race. In 2014 there was very frosty icy weather and last year in 2015 participants were given a very very windy day with heavy rain at the finish of both races. The 2016 event seen very suitable weather for road racing.

Ardagh is probably County Longford's most picturesque village with many historical and architecturally important features. It is located about 6 miles from Longford town.

Virtual Private Networks help you to send and receive data securely, with highest possible privacy. Another person can see and locate the data your laptop or computer transmits when you are not using a VPN, but once your laptop or computer sends data to a VPN server, all the data is secured. You'll be able to safely and securely use the Internet by just opening a VPN connection on your computer and VPN computers and network will protect your data.

Fundamentally, by connecting to a private network via your phone, tablet, notebook or PC, your connection will always be secured.

Are VPN Services Intended For Anyone?

Most Internet surfers feel only advanced users, like businessmen or engineers, should use a VPN service because they have to have a protected link to their place of work or critical files. But, a lot of changes took place over the last several years. Now it is possible to find an open, unsecured Wi-Fi connection almost everywhere - restaurants, bars, parks, coffee shops and so on. Somebody can acquire data from you when you connect and exchange information through these free networks. You may not be bothered by that if you utilize a VPN though.

Your real Internet protocol address will be hidden so you will stay anonymous - this is what a VPN service provides. With a anonymous proxy, nobody can trace you and uncover your location, figure out where did you left blog comments or which web sites you prefer to visit. No one is able to see your data, grab it or follow you because the VPN will encrypt all your data.

More and more people are using VPN services as there are a growing number of personal privacy violations on the web. It's natural that we do not like somebody do invade our privacy, our chat sessions and e-mail messages are our own personal matter. A VPN service is a logical choice if you need to protect your personal data.

The Best Way To Select A VPN For Your Needs

There is a wide range of VPN services to select from today. Some services will charge a monthly fee for you to get connected to anonymous proxy, although some will provide this service for free. Ads are one of problems that you'll have to deal with if you work with a free of charge anonymous proxy. The truth is, these are a good option if you do not want to spend any money. For those who wouldn't like to hassle with free services and are serious about your internet privacy, use a paid VPN service.

About The Small, Yet Significant Things

You ought to investigate the protocols a VPN service is offering when you need the best protection there is. An ordinary user does not need to be concerned about PPTP and SSL, but this is of high relevance to businesses and companies. What protection from viruses and Trojans a VPN service is able to offer is an additional important matter for a serious user. One organization will have numerous users linking through a secured connection, so a VPN supplier should be able to serve PC's, notebooks, tablets and mobile phones. In the end, no malware software or attackers will trouble you in case you use a VPN service and surf the Internet by using a secured connection. incognitoline.com/

The is a photograph from a set of photographs of the 15th running of the Fields of Athenry 10KM took place on Monday, St. Stephen's Day, December 26th 2016 at 11:00 in Athenry, Co. Galway, Ireland. Just under 1,200 participants finished the race today under the Medieval Arch in the town. The weather, for a change, was almost perfect for road running. While there was a stiff breeze into the face of runners for the first 4KM the conditions turned very pleasant and favourable for the final 6KM of the race with the winter sun also appearing.

This is one of the leading 10KM road races in Ireland. It is hard to believe that the race is "only" fifteen years old. It's superb organisation, atmosphere, and great race history gives it the characteristic of a race that is many years older. The credit for this goes to the wonderful athletics club in Athenry AC and the team of volunteers. The attention to every detail in the race which this year attracted over 1,200 participants means that the race has earned it's stripes as one of the leading road races in Ireland.

The race started at the Railway station and then took in a loop of the famous fields of Athenry where it turns left and begins it's return to the town, passing the soccer club, over the railway lines, and finishing under the medival arch in Athenry town for a fittingly atmospheric finish to the race. Race HQ is in the Presentation College in Athenry. Post race showers, prize giving ceremony, and refreshments were provided in the College after the race.

We have a very extensive set of photographs from this year's event. The link to the full set of photographs on this Flickr photostream is here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157676673218051.

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

The C-123 was originally designed to be a glider by the Chase Aircraft Company. Fairchild Aviation inherited the design and created the Provider. The plane was designed to fly from short, unprepared runways and incorporated a rear ramp for parachute jumps, cargo drops and parachute drag unloading. The plane could carry most Army wheeled vehicles and howitzers. The C-123 was used extensively in Viet Nam as the primary Agent Orange defoliant sprayship. A modified C-123 served as General William Westmoreland's executive transport. No fuel is carried in the wings of the aircraft. All is carried in the engine nacelles or wing drop tanks to reduce the chance of fire in combat. This attributed to the Provider's relatively short combat radius.

Our C-123K is the troop transport version of the "Provider". The museum's C-123 was originally built as a B model, serial number 54-612, manufactured by Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, MD, and was delivered to the Air Force on December 20, 1955 at Ardmore AFB, OK. This aircraft was flown by 10 different units assigned to the Tactical Air Command, Air Force Reserve, and a two-year stint with USAFE at Dreux AB, France, as well as nine months at Leopoldville AP, Congo, until 1965. Our aircraft was converted from a B model to a K model in 1967. This aircraft is on loan from the USAF.

Es una pena que el interior de la cabina de vuelo esté en tan mal estado.

It's a pity that the cockpits is so badly conservated.
