in the quiet grounds of hospital palmaplanas in palma de mallorca, a towering tree stands sentinel in the night. its branches stretch out, a natural protector in the monochrome moonlight. under its watchful presence sits a lone chair, an abandoned companion to the silent guardian. if felt a sense of solace and guardianship, a single moment where nature offers its unwavering strength and shelter against the darkness enveloping the cold and frightening atmosphere of a hospital.
NHS staff are making improvised masks out of snorkels, buying kit from hardware stores and using school science goggles to protect themselves in anticipation of a rise in coronavirus cases, it has emerged.
Doctors and nurses said they were being forced to improvise as they worried about access to appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
A consultant anaesthetist working in south-east England reported buying 60 snorkels to adapt into respirator masks. “Various other places are doing the same,” the doctor told the Guardian. “One trust has ordered 500 and teamed up with companies who are (3D) printing the adapters.”

Candid street shot,
Went to the world famous Vedanthangal bird sanctuary in Chengalpet Tamilnadu, India, and got some nice shots. Let us pass on the spirit of saving Nature to our future generations. Plant more Banyan trees as they sustain many lives. Thanks. Instagram Id :- @nagendran_c4777 – 04-03-2025.
One of the major reasons why we need to work towards protecting the environment is because it helps to protect humanity. If we didn’t have our environment, then we wouldn’t have a place to live or resources to live.it is our moral obligation to do so. As a human who lives on earth, it is our responsibility to make sure that it is protected. We must give back to the future generation that what we have received and enjoying. Give them an environment that isn’t damaged and teach them how to continue living sustainably. I request all good souls to plant Banyan tree while making tree plantation. It will have a long lasting effect for mankind and go a long way in carry forwarding the nature to the next generation and will also give fruits useful for birds. Instagram Id : @nagendran_c4777. Planting of trees in a special occasion such as Birthday Wedding etc is a excellent gesture. It can be done in memory of our Parents, Teachers, Friends and also people who comes across in our life such as Doctors Nurses and health staff for their noble service to the society.
The Mahonie loop road (S99) is not known for having a large number of animal sightings so we were very pleased to see lots of animals during our evening game drive out of Punda. Low light didn't make this the easiest to photograph and they blocked the road for half an hour whilst the little calf refused to move on.
I was disappointed with the accommodation at Punda which, whilst clean, is in desperate need of an upgrade. We stayed in one of the family cottages and when my daughter went for a swim the pool was so dirty that we had to forbid her from getting her head wet.
It was a real shame as all the other camps that we stayed at (or ate at) ie Mopani, Shingwedzi, Letaba and Satara were really well kept.

This particular couple of American Avocets were so protective of their young one that one of them kept flying around me in circle. I wasn't even any close to their chick. I was at least 20 feet away. I even saw them chase out other birds as well.

A hermit crab using a incandescent light bulb screw end as a protective home. I find many light bulbs washed ashore. This is a good example of adaptive behavior. I found five crabs with beach trash homes tonight.

Once uopn a time, this guy was a cop. But then he got off track and ended up in prison. For his own safety, he is being held in protective custody/administrative segregation. In his active career, he arrested some of the inmates that are now serving time with him, so it's sensible that he has as little contact with other inmates as possible. The white jumpsuit signals his status. He spends most of his time in solitary confinement. When he is allowed to leave his cell, he is placed in full restraints. Four armed guards escort him wherever he needs to go. Think before you act. Crime does not pay.

JoJo protecting his nesting box.
Certain times of the year my cockatiels get very defensive over their nesting boxes. Although he isn't a father, he believes it's his box.
when i love someone,
i am protective.
i don't mean romantic love,
and i don't mean jealous.
i want to protect people that are close to me from hurt.
i want to stop people from hurting them.

ZodSqd returning from exhaustive 5 km patrol in CBRN protected mode - meaning exhaustive 2 hours sealed in the Zodiak suit with combat helmet on top and 20 kgs of payload to carry on his back.
Want to know more about the CBRN suit type Zodiak?
The CBRN suit Zodiak is a multipart protective suit of the German Federal Armed Forces manufactured from sturdy butyl rubber . It is not supplied to all soldiers, especially not to combat units, but is worn by the CBRN defense troops during decontamination activities or similar.
The suit consists of a pair of rubber flap trousers, a rubber top with fixed hood, rubber gloves and rubber boots.
The trouser's legs are pulled outward over the boots. Metal rings are inserted into the bootleg metal rings to stabilize and strengthen those in order to have a firm and gas-tight connection with the trouser's flexible rubber hem after pulling up the trousers. This compound is by most users considered as the great weak point of the Zodiak, since there often occur leaks while the Zodiak is worn.
The pants are connected to top by a roll closure. Pants and top each are equipped with an rubber apron, which are highly wrapped lying one on another. This winding is best to be done in buddy aid, however, it is considered as a robust and dense solution without any damageable moving parts like a zipper.
In the head cover of the top are three openings separated by rubber webs that can be drawn over the edges of the eye glasses and the filter connection and exhalation valve of the NBC protective mask M65 to give a gas-tight connection to the mask. The M65 mask was - unlike the Zodiak - personal basic equipment of every German soldier. With some inaccuracy of fit the hood can also used wearing the upgraded combat Mask M65z, which next to the filter connecting has a connector for a drinking valve. The latter combination can be used to extend the possible action time wearing the Zodiak suit through intermediate hydration.
The gloves manufactured from flexible thinner rubber are pulled onto the stiffened arm ends of the top part of the suit creating a very tight connection.
