The Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ والہ وسلم has stated, ‘Making Wudu before and after eating (i.e. washing the hands and the mouth) increases one’s sustenance and keeps Satan away.’ (Kanz-ul-Ummal, pp. 106, vol. 10, Hadis 40755)
Today I went to Tatura, Victoria, for work. Opposite the Department of Primary Industry's Tatura research station stood this large edifice. I took a closer look and discovered that it is a massive network of nets designed to keep birds off the 'Pink Lady' apples and cherries. The apples have been espaliered on a "Tatura Trellis" to maximise production. I had not seen netting on such a scale before, and it was very impressive!
The ominous clouds were a nice touch, too.

River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme.
These images were taken during the last week of September 2012, tracking the on-going river bank alterations and excavation of the river bed.
In preparation for the river-bank strengthening/protection along this stretch of the river, a 2nd channel was created -- with the intention of diverting the river.
Having endured a similar flooding only days earlier, another heavy fall of rain caused the channels to fill up again.
It meant starting all over again - draining this road/bank side channel, cutting a release channel near the bridge to release the volume, and activating pumps to assist with the repeated drainage.
Matters were never helped by the overflow pipe which siphoned run-off from the adjacent motorway!
Always quite amazing to see how water levels could drain away within a few days.
The question would always be -- how much work could be completed before the (inevitable) next run of water?
As we can see, one or two day's intense rain could produce rapid flooding of channels, swamping on-going works, and causing temporary vehicle access paths to have to be repaired.
And these access ramps were proving difficult to navigate for the fully-laden dumpers/trucks.
This A250 Volvo truck cannot reverse up the muddy ramp, and is having to be towed by a CAT 3300 and nudged by a CASE CX 210.
Those towing belts are remarkably strong -- but I still wouldn't want to be standing too close to them in case they snapped!

At 1:17pm, the MTFPD struck out MABAS Box #5-1241 by the authority of command.
News obtained from the Northwest Herald: McHENRY – A structure fire at the Polish Legion of American Veterans on 1304 Park St. in McHenry took roughly two and a half hours to extinguish Sunday afternoon, but no one was injured during the annual Mother's Day brunch.
McHenry Township Fire Battalion Chief Joe Krueger said firefighters received a call at 11:41 a.m. for the fire, which was called in while members of the post were cooking for a Mother's Day brunch. Krueger said a Level 3 MABAS box alert was called, bringing assistance from multiple departments in Lake and McHenry counties.
With heavy smoke coming through the roof, McHenry Township Fire Chief Tony Huemann said the first wave of firefighters made an aggressive move and ran hoses inside the building before Krueger deemed the situation too dangerous and pulled out the firefighters. Responders then fought the blaze defensively from the outside of the building, Huemann said.
No civilians or firefighters were injured and the fire was contained to the single building. Some emergency crews began to leave the scene at 3 p.m. The building has "substantial" damage, Krueger said, with most of the back and back roof completely destroyed.
Dan Lisi, first vice commander of Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 188, said he and other members were cooking a Mother's Day brunch at the same time a roofing company was doing work on the building when a breaker popped around 11:30 a.m.
Other breakers started popping and the fire started, Lisi said. He said 70 people were inside the hall, and everybody exited safely and without injury.
Krueger said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Representatives from the roofing company on scene declined to comment.
Lisi said the post has 144 members and has been in the building since 1980.

Within each Meerkat colony, individuals have their own jobs and responsibilities, these are the Baby Sitters and a Lookout.
If you look at the bottom left of the group you can see the legs of the two latest pups.
Well, you need to do what you need to do... especially when there are a bunch of people running in your direction, screaming and some clicking with their cameras.... you gather your little ones and hide them - there were six of them BTW, though fewer are seen.

Kosovo* has a rich and diverse cultural and religious heritage, but that diversity is threatened by a lack of institutional support for preservation, protection, and promotion. Limited awareness of cultural and religious heritage also puts it at risk.
An EU-funded initiative is now changing that. We are bringing communities of Kosovo together to work on renovation, beautification, and rehabilitation of their shared heritage.
