Dave and I traversed all this country a number of times in '65, and I have some fond memories of all of the Nullarbor, just search my stream for Nullarbor...

See also wasg.iinet.net.au/nulla.html for a bit about the Nullarbor limestone.
"In 2005, The Wilderness Society nominated the Nullarbor Plain for protection under South Australia’s Wilderness Protection Act. The nomination recognised the cultural significance of the region to its traditional owners.
Widely acclaimed for outstanding natural and cultural heritage values, the Nullarbor is the largest semi-arid karst cave system in the world."

Nullabor plain
janhawkinsau.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/the-oondiri-travell...
The Nullabor, the name has always irritated me because it is such an enigma to what you actually find. The vast ancient region was named in August 1865, while an explorer was travelling from the east across the Hampton Tablelands, along the most arid of sections. E. A. Delisser in his journal named both the Nullabor and Eucla. This was how the largest limestone karst in the world received its European name. Its meaning is found in the Latin Nullus Arbor (It seems Delisser spelt it Aus’ style) the meaning is however ‘No trees/plants’. This is a simple misconception as the vast region is not treeless.
To the tribal aboriginal people, the vast plain was known as the Oondiri, meaning a waterless plain, as surface water is not easily found across the ancient karst of limestone. This limestone karst is the largest in the world. It was formed 40 million years ago when the Australian continent broke away from Antarctica and it is also very unstable.

For those who know me, you also know my opinion about the use of camo attire. For those who don’t and deem the expenditure of time worth the effort, check out this link: `www.flickr.com/photos/earl_reinink/5385999488/in/album-72...
Since God is no longer in control, we now bow to the whims and will of our elected officials who have deemed that social distancing is the new norm. Glad I am married! How does one date the woman of his dreams from 2 metres? Try being intimate from that distance! Good luck having kids… Darn, I am off topic.
I have seen many images on social media, people wearing masks, scarves, hankies and diapers over the face, and even one fool with a plastic bag over his head (he certainly won’t die of virus, but will probably die of stupidity or asphyxiation)!
I decided to do my part. I dug into my camo closet and came up with this solution to the shortage of face masks. It comes with many benefits. For example, yesterday I managed to slip into first place in line-up at a busy store, no one saw me. Got to the toilet paper first, bought a one-year supply, cleaned out the hand sanitizer selection, stocked up on Vodka (in the event I ran out of sanitizer). Threw a camo tarp over buggy on the way out, managed to get to truck un-noticed.
Merits of said attire:
1. Readily available at Bass Pro for just a few loonies.
2. Reversible in case one snots in their mask
3. Washable / re-usable
4. Undetectable - feel free to roam in your favored park or attend Easter service.
5. No need to do hair or make-up (that's for women, Ramen, Chuck and John).
6. Water-proof model provides airborne spray protection.

The Pigeon Point Lighthouse has stood proud and (115 feet) tall since 1872, the year it began to guide mariners from its perch on a 35-foot cliff in Pescadero.
Each lighthouse has its own distinctive light pattern which makes it identifiable to passing ships. Ship captains carry a "light list" of the various patterns, and thus can use the signal to help determine their location. As the Pigeon Point lighthouse's Fresnel lens rotated around the light source, it produced a flash pattern of light every 10 seconds. An automated Aero beacon was installed in 1972, but the 10-second light pattern is still maintained today.
Each November the original Fresnel lens is lit on the anniversary of it's first lighting.

This female Goshawk is protecting her two small ones. The nest is in a nearby tree, when she hear some strange sound she will quickly get alert. The nature is so beautiful!!

You Find Yourself Alone, Sometimes
Without A Home, No Protection
You Don't Know Which Way To Go
You're Lost, No Direction
Then, Suddenly, Out Of The Blue
Some Kind Of Magic Comes To You
You Don't Know How, You Don't Know Why
But Someday Gonna Take Off, Fly
Fly, Fly, Fly...
Make A Wish, Wish, Make A Wish, Wish
My Wish Would Be
(Chorus)
To Be Free
To Be Wild
And To Be
Just Like A Child
And If I Get Lost
I Really Don't Mind
Cos' I'm Me (Free)
Doing Just Fine
(To Be Free)
You're Out In The Cold, Sometimes
As Far As You Can See, Misty
You Want To Run, Into The Sun
The Road Is Lost, Sand, Shifty
Suddenly, Out Of The Blue
Some Kind Of Magic Pushes You Through
You Don't Know When, How, Or Why
But Someday Gonna Take Off, Fly
Fly, Fly, Fly...
And If I Had A Wish
My Wish Would Be
(Repeat Chorus Three Times)
Just Like A Child
I Really Don't Mind
Cos' I'm Free,
Doing Just Fine
