Rhino poaching has escalated in recent years and is being driven by the demand for rhino horn in Asian countries where some ignorant people belief it can cure ailments. Rhino horn is made of keratin and CAN NOT cure any sickness.

AUSTRIA - one of the most beautiful countries

Essaouira is protected by a natural bay partially shielded by wave action by the Iles Purpuraires. A broad sandy beach extends from the harbour south of Essaourira, at which point the Oued Ksob discharges to the ocean; south of the discharge lies the archaeological ruin, the Bordj El Berod.[1] The Canary Current is responsible for the generally southward movement of ocean circulation and has led to enhancement of the local fishery.[2] The village of Diabat lies about five kilometres south of Essaouira, immediately south of the Oued Ksob.

Essaouria connects to Safi to the north and to Agadir to the south via the N1 road and to Marrakech to the east via the R 207 road. There is a small airport some 7-8 km away from the town, which schedules several flights a week to Casablanca.

The Medina of Essaouira (formerly "Mogador") is a UNESCO World Heritage Listed city, as an example of a late 18th century fortified town, as transferred to North Africa.

The fishing harbour, suffering from the competition of Agadir and Safi remains rather small, although the catches (sardines, conger eels) are surprisingly abundant due to the coastal upwelling generated by the powerful trade winds and the Canaries Current.

There are only a handful of modern purpose-built hotels within the walls of the old city. The medina is home to many small arts and crafts businesses, notably cabinet making and 'thuya' wood-carving (using roots of the Tetraclinis tree), both of which have been practised in Essaouira for centuries.

Essaouira is also renowned for its kitesurfing and windsurfing, with the powerful trade wind blowing almost constantly onto the protected, almost waveless, bay. Several world-class clubs rent top-notch material on a weekly basis.

Parasols tend to be used on the beach as a protection against the wind and the blowing sand. Camel excursions are available on the beach and into the desert band in the interior.

Essaouira is the site of an annual pilgrimage to the grave of Rabbi Chaim Pinto, whose home and synagogue are preserved as an historic and religious site, the Chaim Pinto Synagogue. The Simon Attias Synagogue is also still standing.

Israeli liberals, angry at Netanyahu's attempt to crush the independence of the judiciary and protect himself from a corruption indictment, joined Palestinian and other activists infuriated by 56 years of Apartheid, since Israel's occupation of the West Bank in 1967.

Netanyahu is still on trial for corruption in three separate cases. In 2019 he had already been officially indicted for breach of trust, accepting bribes and fraud, and, as a consequence, he lost the support of his coalition partners in parliament. However, last November, he returned to power in coalition with the ultra-orthodox and ultra nationalist factions, forming what almost all commentators agree is the most right wing government Israel has witnessed since its independence in 1948.

Israel has been rocked by massive protests and strikes ever since Netanyahu's justice minister, Yariv Levin, revealed the government's plan to overhaul the country's justice system in January. Activists pointed out that its intent was clear. To weaken judicial independence and to shield Netanyahu from corruption charges.

Resistance to the government's proposals escalated even further two days after this photograph was taken when Netanyahu returned to Israel and fired his defence minister, Yoav Gallant. Within an hour tens of thousands had taken to the streets in central Jerusalem and also surrounded Netanyahu's home.

Returning to Friday morning in London when this photo was taken, protesters waiting peacefully on the pavement opposite 10 Downing Street were doubtless surprised at the huge number of police, including dogs, deployed on Whitehall. Later, and despite heavy rain, around a hundred protesters made their way to the Savoy Hotel where Netanyahu was rumoured to be staying, where the police presence was far more low key.

Many activists carried placards such as "democracy and occupation cannot coexist" and "Free Palestine = Free Israel." They pointed out that Palestinians live in what both Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have concluded is an Apartheid state, many without any access to clean water or electricity, many fearing the demolition of their homes and others the detention for lengthy periods of their relatives and children for protesting the continuing occupation. Meanwhile, Britain's ongoing military and diplomatic support for Israel make us complicit in the continued oppression of the Palestinian people.

Lake Audy (50.7552, -100.2481), located in Southern Division, Manitoba, Canada spans 477.7 hectares (approximately 1180 acres or 4.8 square kilometers).

Riding Mountain National Park is a national park in Manitoba, Canada. The park is located within Treaty 2 Territory and sits atop the Manitoba Escarpment. Consisting of a protected area of 2,969 km2 (1,146 sq mi), the forested parkland stands in sharp contrast to the surrounding prairie farmland. It was designated a national park because it protects three different ecosystems that converge in the area; grasslands, upland boreal and eastern deciduous forests. It is most easily reached by Highway 10 which passes through the park. The south entrance is at the townsite of Wasagaming, which is the only commercial centre within the park boundaries

USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned ship in the United States Navy. Naval officers and crew still serve aboard her today. The USS Constitution is operated by the United States Navy, a partner to the National Parks of Boston.

Prior to independence, the colonies were protected from pirates and foreign navies by the British Royal Navy. After independence the USA had to defend itself. In 1794, Congress authorized the construction of the first six warships that became the new United States Navy. USS Constitution was built in the North End of Boston. Construction began in 1794 and Constitution was launched on October 21, 1797.

The greatest glory for Constitution came during the War of 1812. Constitution's crew defeated four British frigates during three separate engagements. In battle, Constitution earned the nickname "Old Ironsides" because it appeared as if enemy cannonballs could not penetrate the ship's strong oak hull.

A view looking back to the northeast while hiking along the trail in the Santa Elena Canyon. With the perceived large dynamic range of this setting, I decided to use five bracketed images and then bring it into Aurora HDR to make a conversion for an HDR tiff image. I later did some post-processing work in Viveza 2 and then CEP 4 for the final image.

For the image itself, I just wanted to capture that peaceful and serene look with the river and the mountainsides all around me as I looked off into the distance while in Big Bend National Park.

Alt-Marzahn is the historically preserved village of the village of Marzahn, which was already created in the Middle Ages. At the same time, it is a street running around the village in the Berlin district of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. The entire ensemble with its low houses, the village church with the parish and parish house, the historic pavement and individual buildings including the external green areas is under monument protection. The buildings protected since 1977 also include the first village school (house number 51), in which the district museum Marzahn-Hellersdorf was set up, and some - albeit somewhat converted and above all modernized inside - farmhouses

This Tawny Eagle was very protective of his kill.. It was quite difficult to see what he had in his claws, but every now and then I got a glimpse of an impala head... So I am thinking that this was the remains of a Wild dog kill...
