Thanks so much for all the support! 😊
This is Piper's Hill and Dodderhill Commons, also known as Hanbury Woods. When the cattle and sheep freely grazed amongst the trees it helped to keep the forest floor open and free from saplings and too much undergrowth. Now, in order to protect the 'veterans', some of the oldest trees in the county, from competition, the Worcester Wildlife Trust manage the woodland to stop it choking up.
As one shepherd said to the other - lets get the flock out of here.
On a trip to the Isle of Skye a few years ago I spent the night at the "Tan Hill Inn" Britain's highest pub at 1,732 feet (528m) above sea level. And of course it snowed during the night.
Being on a motorbike made leaving a bit tricky - it was mid afternoon before the road was passable.
Shepherd's and sheep farmers have a hard job at the best of times but snow just makes it worse.

She built the nest in this clump of honeysuckle. The babies are gone now but it was exciting to see the activity.
Following the previous shot and being in a high traffic area the Red-Tailed Hawk tried flying with the catch but as it was too heavy did finally manage to drag it into some marsh reeds. I know the image may be disturbing to some but it is the reality of nature.
Thank you for viewing.

n the dark nighttime streets, Hayden, a librarian turned elegant vigilante, steps in to protect a helpless young man from thugs, displaying his sharp intellect and physical prowess. After driving away the attackers, he watches with satisfaction as the youth safely departs before fading into the night, ready to continue safeguarding his city.

Day 3 of the epic temp inversions, and day 3 stuck inside on domestic duties, BUT I did at least manage to nip out and grab a few quick handheld family in tow images on day 3 just before the mists evaporated.

We have resident Spruce Grouse in the woods on our property. We have named this handsome fellow Romeo. For the past two weeks, he has been out courting the Spruce Hens that live on our property and it has been quite entertaining to say the least.
Two nights ago, we came home from town and Romeo was on top of our truck's tonneau cover doing his mating ritual.
When doing his ritual, he spreads his feathers out like the image above, then moves them from side to side. After doing this a few times, he then will peck at the ground or in this case, a branch. His next move is to extend his wings out maybe an inch on each side and have the wingtips pointing towards the ground. He will then run towards the hen and if she is receptive, then he will mate. If not, she will fly off and Romeo will start all over again. Gotta love Romeo!

This is a photograph of my puppy, "Spanky" (A.K.A. The Spankster) Standing guard over a baby Fur Seal he found in my backyard. He refused to leave its side until he was sure it was safe.
What a hero he is!
That's My story and I am sticking to it!
No, that is not his brother "Loki" who is not a fur seal and isn't really that fat!
Why would any of you even think such a thing!
You all are just jealous that you don't have a hero dog like the "Spankster"!
Photo taken in my backyard, which has been overrun by baby fur seals. Polk County, Florida.

The white rhinoceros or square-lipped rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is the largest extant species of rhinoceros. It has a wide mouth used for grazing and is the most social of all rhino species.
Despite its name the white rhino is not actually white at all, its skin is grey in colour.
The white rhino is a grazer and can often be found grazing on grass in the open plains. They need to feed on a daily basis but can survive for 4 to 5 days without water.
Populations of white rhino have recovered from an all time low of around 100 in 1895 to the current wild population of around 20,170. However, an increase in rhino poaching since 2008 is once again threatening the total population.
The two Grey Crowned Cranes seem to be protecting the White Rhino who was busy grazing. Photographed during a photography safari on an early morning game drive in the open savannah plains of Africa.

Adult Red Knot in breeding plumage - New Jersey, USA
As I’ve mentioned before, I spent a lot of time in 2020 exploring new places in New Jersey to find birds. During the peak of spring shorebird migration, I’ve made few trips all the way down to Delaware Bay to find Red Knots in their full alternate plumage. I can’t wait to come back there again this season
Never stop exploring!!!
Thank you all for kind comments!
