Contrary to what the name might suggest, as with champagne, to a prosecco not to a region in Italy but to the grape. This white grape, now called glera, forms the basis of this sparkling Italian wine.
My Christmas gift was few bottles of prosecco from amazing Italian Producer, Garbara (Valdobbiadene, Santo Stefano). Cheers and HMM!!!!!
This is a corner of a sprawling garden of friends of ours in the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade. I took this photo on 'Coronation Day' when they invited us for a 'Three P's' party - Pétanque, Prosecco and Pizzas! It was the first time I'd played pétanque and I thoroughly enjoyed it although my bowling was getting slightly wayward after many glasses of prosecco (and gin & tonics!) 😊
It was our 37th wedding anniversary while we were visiting our son and his girlfriend in Malta, so we all went for a celebratory meal...and Prosecco.

C’è una crepa in ogni cosa. Ed è da lì che entra la luce.
