Contrary to what the name might suggest, as with champagne, to a prosecco not to a region in Italy but to the grape. This white grape, now called glera, forms the basis of this sparkling Italian wine.

Thank u ♥

My Christmas gift was few bottles of prosecco from amazing Italian Producer, Garbara (Valdobbiadene, Santo Stefano). Cheers and HMM!!!!!

This Glera vineyard is at Paderno del Grappa, near Fonte in the Veneto of northern Italy.

It was a significant battlefield, part of the bloody front line between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire during World War I. (Documented in Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms, for example)

Today it's a healed and peaceful place. The old vines here were planted just after that war, today making Asolo DOCG Prosecco Superiore, by the owners, the Dal Bello winery.

I wanted to try and capture elements of both war and peace in this photograph, with the trellis posts, dormant vines and thorn bushes alluding to the trenches and barbed wire of past times. But also knowing that a glass of Prosecco is a reason for celebration and friendship.

Minimal processing - as near to what the camera saw as possible.

This is a corner of a sprawling garden of friends of ours in the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade. I took this photo on 'Coronation Day' when they invited us for a 'Three P's' party - Pétanque, Prosecco and Pizzas! It was the first time I'd played pétanque and I thoroughly enjoyed it although my bowling was getting slightly wayward after many glasses of prosecco (and gin & tonics!) 😊

Easy dessert idea...raspberry sorbet with a splash of Prosecco! Yummy, refreshing and light.

Vigneti a Farra di Soligo , patrimonio UNESCO

It was our 37th wedding anniversary while we were visiting our son and his girlfriend in Malta, so we all went for a celebratory meal...and Prosecco.

Prosecco Road.(La Strada del Prosecco) is off the tourist route, known to wine lovers. It winds between two distinct towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene (Veneto Italy) Not the most beautiful area but in these hills I find myself!

On this day I've decided to start the photo challenge again. One image every day for 365 days. Will I make it? Let just see :) Hoping to improve my photography with this challenge :)

I hope you've had a great Christmas and New year, all the best for 2018!

Angeles National Forest. Went out for the "meteor shower" but wasn't too much to see--there's 1 in this pic...

As for the name, we drank a lil prosecco while I got some pix :p

We are in Susegana, Veneto, Italy. Susegana is known for the panoramic view of the hills with the cultivation of prosecco.

Detailed glass on bottle of wine. This is one of those small individual bottles which stand around 7.5" high and provide one large or two small glasses.
