Close up image of a large pink poppy flower displaying an inner beauty. A nearby poppy seed head appears to have a gold ring on top. Hence I call this image ‘The Proposal’.

Late afternoon today.
Lavender Bay, Sydney.
Saturday, 15th April, 2023.
During my usual Saturday trek around the harbour today I discovered, by chance, this elaborate setting near the wharf at Lavender Bay. It was a marriage proposal complete with roses, candles, a 'Marry Me' sign, and a photographer (or two, lol), not to mention a bridge and a skyline.
Now why did I not think to do this some years ago?

Here you can see her displaying (on the left) while he taps the ground (road) with his beak, which she also responded in kind to moments later.

Sun coming out on a foggy day at Neskowin Beach, OR. I had gone to see the Neskowin Ghost Forest but had no luck, apparently it’s buried in sand mist of the time.

Last month I had a Flickrmail from a young Californian man called James. He told me that his girlfriend Emmi was studying in Ireland and he was about to travel over to Ireland to meet up with her on St. Patrick's Day. James said that he was planning to propose to Emmi during his visit and wanted my advise on a nice quiet and scenic coastal location in Dublin for the proposal. Wow, talk about putting me under pressure, LOL! After a little thought I suggested the above elevated location in a large parkland at Killiney Hill and gave him detailed directions.
I didn't think I would hear from James again. However earlier this week I got another Flickrmail from a very happy James. He told me that the proposal went very well on Killiney Hill and that they both loved the location! So I'm sure you will all join me in congratulating James and Emmi on their Irish engagement.
I took the above shot a few days ago as a little tribute to the happy couple while I was up for a regular walk on Killiney Hill. The inserts are photos from James and Emmi which they took themselves on Killiney Hill just after the successful proposal. Yes I know the blended image is probably a bit mushy and sentimental...but I'm an incurable romantic, LOL!

Man proposing to girlfriend on Haskell's beach during sunset in Goleta, Santa Barbara, California, USA while on vacation by the pier.
This is a genuine marriage proposal, I was wandering around Welwyn Garden City and wanted to photograph the light tunnel. On arrival a young couple was there so I asked if they would mind being in my shot. Much to my astonishment the scene I was recording was a marriage proposal which was accepted. We then exchanged details and I sent them a picture. Later in the day I asked them for permission to upload this picture. Such a wonderful moment and a delight to witness.

After that disastrous first date it took years of therapy for Elizabeth to start dating again. When she finally met Sebastian, she couldn't be more happy since she knew right away he was the one for her. Numerous dates came and went by and on a beautiful spring morning in the park, he proposed to her.
But as soon as Elizabeth saw the ring she started to scream and ran away in terror ... Sebastian never saw her again and up to this very day he still wonders whether his quote "one ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them" was maybe a little too much ...
Every time we go near Neskowin I expect to see someone hawking tee shirts that say, "My boyfriend took me to Proposal Rock and all I got was this stupid T-shirt," but I've always been dissappointed. Neskowin Creek and Proposal Rock at Neskowin, Oregon.
I was finally able to roll out early enough to catch a sunrise on the beach this morning.
I saw this couple walking hand in hand along the waters edge, and then the guy dropped down on his knee.
I can't be sure that he was actually proposing......maybe he was just taking a nice picture of his girlfriend on the beach at sunrise with his cellphone, I really couldn't see exactly what was going on, but being the hopeless romantic I am, I'd like to imagine he was whipping out a little blue box from TIffany's (hey....if your gonna dream....dream BIG!), and asking her to spend the rest of her life with him......and of course she said yes! 8-)
Have an AWESOME weekend Peeps!
If your traveling this holiday, stay safe!!
Playing around with a new editing program that I didn't know I had! I did a remix of this photo and really like how it came out. One of my goals for 2014 is to start selling more prints... Anyone interested?
