Proportion and symmetry!...but still due to be flattened and carted away in 5 million skips.

I imagine it is actually true that maintenance and services in this 60s leviathon would cost more than the PFI mortgage on the imminent new-build. On the other hand the artist's impression of the new-build looks like a lot of other contemporary Liverpool architecture: spatially fussy, ashamed of its size, texturally chequerboard and soon to look like 1970s Karl-Marx-Stadt in rain.

And by the way that lone green light on the right is just to the right of my window in 2011 (& 2012). Wish I could join in the love-fest for the NHS (and I support it wholeheartedly) but it does need to be managed by Hattie Jacques types not Polly Toynbee types. But certainly not by Gove or Hunt types.

My newborn son right hand as a size comparison to my hand...so tiny.

The superbly restored Ex-Leicester AEC Renown no.40, FJF 40D, with well proportioned East Lansc Bodywork, is seen at Donington Park whilst attending Showbus 2017.

Ansel Adams used the golden ratio in his photography too:

The Fibonacci Numbers are closely related to the golden ratio, and thus they also play a prominent role in exalted natural and artistic compositions!

I'm working on a far deeper book titled The Golden Ratio Number for Photographers. :)

The famous mathematician Jacob Bernoulli wrote:

The (golden spiral) may be used as a symbol, either of fortitude and constancy in adversity, or of the human body, which after all its changes, even after death, will be restored to its exact and perfect self.

Engraved upon Jacob’s tombstone is a spiral alongside the words, "Eadem Mutata Resurgo," meaning "Though changed, I shall rise again." And so it is that within the Golden Ratio Principle, the golden harmonies rise yet again.

The golden ratio is oft known as the divine cut, the golden cut, the divine proportion, the golden number, and PHI for the name of the architect of the Parthenon Phidias. It has exalted classical art on down through the millennia and it can exalt your art too!

Ask me anything about the golden ratio! :) I will do my best to answer!!

Enjoy my Fine Art Ballet instagram too!

Dr. Elliot McGucken's Golden Ratio Principle: The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio. the golden number, rectangle, and spiral!

Ansel Adams is not only my favorite photographer, but he is one of the greatest photographers and artists of all time. And just like great artists including Michelangelo, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Picasso, Ansel used the golden ratio and divine proportions in his epic art.

Not so long ago I discovered golden regions in many of his famous public domain his 8x10 aspect ratio photographs. I call these golden harmony regions "regions of golden action" or "ROGA"S, as seen here:

More golden ratio and epic photography composition books soon! Best wishes for the Holiday Season! Dr. Elliot McGucken :)

This photo is a gingerbread man and house. It shows proportion as the gingerbread man is made to seem larger and closer, whereas the house is farther back and smaller than it was compared to the gingerbread man. I like how the photo focuses on the gingerbread man, but still allows the house to create a nice not-too-busy background.

Shoes are made out of leather, heat molded and wet molded to fit the feet precisely.

Legs have a pulley system that runs from knee to thigh through hips into torso and out the back, when pulled they create a slight kicking motion.

Arms have a pulley system that runs from hand to forearm to upper arm to shoulder blades, When pulled raises the hands, when not pulled, gravity causes them to lower

Mouth: a pulley through the head allows the mouth to open when pulled; when not actively pulled the elasticity of the silicone face pulls it closed.

Eyes: rotation system closes eyes when pulled up - this mimics the design of antique bisque dolls with a weight on the eyes that closes them when doll is horizontal and opens when vertical.

Clothes: Shirt has hole in the back to allow for easier access to pulleys.

Internal channels stop everything from tangling as aside from pulleys the body is strung together with elastic, but an open back allows for everything to be managed and checked/observed/altered.

This photo represents proportion. This is because u see a hand and a building and the hand can hold the building. The most eye striking part of this image is how the building looks like a golf ball especially in her hands

360 time! I wasn't sure I would upload this as it didn't turn out the way I wanted - it turns out the square is proportioned wrongly to be able to get the top of the abbey tower in using this cameraphone panorama technique. But, I like the way it looks like a wibbly wobbly Diagon Alley and the pattern the flagstones make. Kinda cool the chairs look thike a fence too, when usually they're in a square formation :)

Hopefully I'll revisit this picture in the summer when the square is full and I can get the top of the abbey in the shot haha! But all joking aside this image is so wintery, it would be nice to get a "summer" one to compare it to.

I'm now out of the cold and writing this with a nice warm snoozy Locke snuggling on me. I was going to photograph him today on the DSLR as a companion piece to the picture of his brother but it was too dark by the time I got home. He's a bit narky as he wants to join his brother in the playpen they got yesterday but it has been a long day and I just want the small comforts a cuddle with a pet can offer.

Sooo this evening I'll be cooking truffle pasta, running admin on my etsy shop, putting together booking lists for the MTG pre releases, putting the finishing touches on my tax return, digging out some old pictures I forgot to ever put on flickr, tending to the pigs - and this is before my usual evening routine of games and DS9 with Ste. I feel excited by all this stuff (apart from the tax return olololol) but bone tired at the same time. I seem to be incapable of hitting a stride, it's always doing too much on too little energy, but I don't seem to have another mode of existence lol.

I think so many of us are like that these days, it's perhaps our 24/7 culture or just the increased utility of the net that makes it so *easy* to cram your day with projects to be busy with. A far cry from when daylight dictated our active hours and we only had candles, rather than the glow of monitors, to light our evenings. Is it better or worse? I don't think so. It is just the time we live in. I love all of my hobbies and outlets, I just wish I could switch off better.

(In the meantime, a shrieking and wheeking has gone up from Davey in the pigpen and I've had to return my comfort pig to his fretting brother so they can play "follow the leader" - such sweet 'guus!)

Anyway. I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep.

Nice artwork - if a little out-of-proportion :)

Photos depict Niki Lauda at the 1976 Spanish Grand Prix and Clay Regazzoni at the 1976 Monaco Grand Prix.

Check out the period price tag: $14.98 - I paid somewhat more than that for this jewel ;)
