Martha, poems from Garrett Buhl Robinson.
Just walking in the city, when I get the attention of a man promoting his poetry book in -10 Degrees, What? Really? yes ... life is not easy everything in life requiere some sacrifice. Then the man spoke a piece of the poems about Martha to me, breath taking, I wasn't feel special like that before.

Hawa Traoré, director of Aprofem, partner in the Just Future Alliance.
"We promote women's rights, including the right to health care, access to income, the right to land, and the right to live in a healthy environment.
The Just Future alliance helps our country in the process towards stabilisation and return to peace. This is very motivating for us as a civil society organisation.
It’s about putting people at the centre of security and justice issues. Without justice, there can be no peace.
Just Future wants to make this an inclusive process, in which all sensibilities play a role.
There is no activity at the governorate level, there is no activity at the regional level, where the Just Future partners are not invited."

Mali, one of the largest countries in the West African Sahel region, is known for its rich history and fascinating mix of cultures. Unfortunately, political turbulence and various regional conflicts have affected almost the entire population in the last decade. These and other challenges, such as climate change, food insecurity and mass displacement, call for an approach that gives Malians the means they need to turn the tide and move forward.
To make a lasting impact on the struggling West African regions, Cordaid believes we need a holistic approach that positively influences the most crucial elements in people’s daily lives. By combining efforts in strengthening civil society, creating a fair value chain, educating youth on topics such as sexual and reproductive health and rights and allowing them to influence governance and peace processes, we can pave the way to a peaceful and just future for all Malians.
Cordaid's programmes in Mali:
PGLR+
The Accountable Local Governance Programme (PGLR+) in Mali seeks to strengthen democratic institutions in 240 municipalities across the Gao, Tombouctou, Mopti, and Ségou regions. Funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mali, the programme is carried out by a consortium of four Dutch NGOs: SNV, Oxfam Novib, the V4T Foundation, and Cordaid.
JNJ2
Jege ni Jaba means 'fish and onions' in Bambara, Mali's lingua franca. It is also the name of a programme that improves food security in the country. Some value chains have all the necessary conditions to be developed on a larger scale. However, farmers and producers are often facing challenges to grow their businesses. The main objectives of the programme are improving people's livelihoods, without increasing the pressure on the environment, and creating economic opportunities for women and youth.
Just Future
Just Future is a programme led by an alliance of international and local NGOs and civil society organisations to strengthen the capacity of civil society in fragile contexts. The alliance partners demand more accessible, responsive and accountable security and justice institutions, and more inclusive political governance and peace-making.
Jigiya
One of the goals of the Jigiya project ('hope' in Bambara) is to educate at least one million girls and boys on sexual and reproductive health and rights. The programme aims to significantly improve the youth's reproductive health and to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality. Cordaid provides technical assistance to the Jigiya project, which is being implemented in four regions: Kayes, Koulikoro, Segou and Mopti.

Climate change in Southeast Asia has been becoming a threat to agricultural production, food security, ecological stability, and sustainable development. Realizing the ongoing climate change issues, ASEAN Member States (AMS) together with international and national research agencies, and the private sector further continue working hand-in-hand to promote Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices to increase the resilience of the agriculture sector to the changing climate. From this background, the ASEAN Climate Resilience Network (ASEAN-CRN) Workshop on Promoting CSA Practices was held from 27-28 October 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The two-day workshop served as way forward to promote the prioritized best CSA practices among AMS.
The workshop is led by the Thailand Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) through its Department of Agriculture (DOA) in its capacity as the current chair of the ASEAN-CRN, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) of Vietnam as host. The German-ASEAN Programme on Response to Climate Change (GAP-CC) – implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat, provided support for this event, along with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

In Malawi, over 80% of the population rely on Agriculture. However, a growing population, declining soil fertility, unreliable rainfall,
reliance on just a few staple crops, and small holding sizes
combine to trap many small-scale farmers in a cycle of
low yields and persistent poverty.
CIP is coordinating the activities of six other CGIAR centers located in Malawi to provide a wide range of science-based agricultural production technologies, training, and access to inputs and technical advice. The project implemented in 10 districts aims to promote climate-resilient, sustainable agricultural growth and build incomes,
employment and food security in Malawi. The project is funded by the European Union through GIZ.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Black and Yellow Gallery in East Van held an artist talk with their two current exhibiting artists: Peter O Miles and Sean Orr.
I photographed their talks as part of my ongoing project to document and promote Vancouver's art and culture, the people and places at the heart of this city.
