Palazzo Grimani (Venice)

Custom Prometheus minifigure made by CyclopsBricks. Character from CW's Arrow season 5.

Prometheus is said to be the best-known sculpture in Rockefeller Center and the most photographed monumental sculpture in all of NYC. Created by famed American sculptor Paul Manship, who held a great fascination for mythological subjects and events, it has become the main attraction of the Lower Plaza. It's central theme is best stated by the quote that's carved in the red granite wall behind him, taken from the sixth-century B.C. Greek dramatist Aeschylus: "Prometheus, Teacher in Every Art, Brought the Fire That Hath Proved to Mortals a Means to a Mighty Ends,"

Prometheus, a gilded bronze sculpture by Paul Manship, overlooks the skating rink/plaza area, which opened on Christmas Day 1936.

Or Promethea, as I've done yet another gender-bend. Quite happy with how she turned out. Couldn't find a decent armoured torso, so I used Orcas, which actually works surprisingly well.

Not happy with the picture though. In case you can't see, she has a white cape, one of those damaged looking ones, and one of those old Knights kingdom swords. I wanted to give her silver arms, but I only have one set, with one side having a large crack, so I didn't want the risk splitting the arm.

As always, lemme know what you think :D

This is a neat view. What you're seeing here is Prometheus just inside the F ring beyond the bright, hazy limb of #Saturn; light from the F and A rings are being refracted through Saturn's upper atmosphere. (Processed raw #Cassini image from Oct. 8, 2008—tinted greyscale.)

Had the idea of using the Ant-Man helmet for Prometheus, thought I'd give it a shot, and update my fig of the man while I was at it.

Ant-Man helmet, LBM Batman head, Ninjago armor, Tony Stark torso with arc reactor painted over, CMF Glam Metal rocker arms, Catwoman belt, Beast Boy legs.

Also featuring Ollie and Bruce cause why not.

Let me know what you think!

My first encounter with this character was in elementary school. There was a Justice Legaue guide book that was made in the late ‘90s/early 2000s. There was a page about Prometheus and I could never pronounce his name😂! Anyway, I took inspiration from Lord Allo’s Prometheus so credit to him. I used Antman’s helmet, Green Lantern’s head, a random white cape, Chima armor, General Zod’s arms, Star Wars torso, and Beast Boy’s legs. Enjoy and let me know if you like these one-shot photos!

So Simon was the fig that get most love in the last pic so here it’s his solo pic

A shot that screamed out to be cropped square but for once I decided to leave the Old Man a little headroom.

Not my usual processing workflow giving a very different finished look to my usual shares. Id be more than happy to hear comments positive or negative as to what you think.

Herastrau Park, Bucharest

I couldn’t decide on a weapon to give him, so I gave him both. Problem solved

Parts are pretty self-explanatory. Helmet is a black helmet, head is a black head, visor from Nexo Knights, band is LOTR Ring, feather is from the Disney Castle. Neck cape thing is from a Wonder Twin, armour is from Samurai X, torso is from Ocean Master, arms are from TLBM Catwoman, hips are from TLBM General Zod, legs are from a CMF rockstar. Night stick thing is exactly what it looks like, golden sword is a golden sword.

Batman is basically Batman. Just the classic TV series fig with an 06 cowl, although I really like this combo.

Lemme know what you think :)

I hope you like the background design. Lighting, graphics and sound design were superb (I suppose some designers are better than others :)

PROMETHEUS STOLE FIRE FROM THE GODS AND GAVE IT TO MAN.

FOR THIS HE WAS CHAINED TO A ROCK AND TORTURED FOR ETERNITY.

Ashes of the Singularity is a real-time strategy video game developed by Oxide Games and Stardock Entertainment. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on March 31, 2016.

On November 10, 2016, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation was released. It is a standalone expansion that adds to the base game with more units, maps, and structures, as well as several interface tweaks. The total player count was also increased from 8 to 16 players. The expansion was later merged into the base game on February 16, 2017 after it became apparent that the separate games divided the player community.[1]

Prometheus is a Post-Human Coalition capital ship capable of incredible bursts of damage against single targets in Ashes of the Singularity.

This is the valuable sarcophagus known as the "Prometheus Sarcophagus". It was sculpted by a workshop in Rome in the very early years of the 4th century AD, when the great anti-Christian persecution ordered by Diocletian began. The carved scene is a vigorous affirmation of paganism: in the crowded composition, divinities of every rank (Zeus, Hera, Hermes, Poseidon, Eros, Psyche, the workshop of Hephaestus and a representation of the Underworld) crowd around the protagonist, the Titan Prometheus portrayed in the center, seated, intent on observing his creature: the man, still an inert clay puppet, rigidly stretched out at his feet. In a prominent position there are Hera and Zeus in the act of giving Hermes the money with which to redeem the man's life from Hades. Next to Hermes, there is Poseidon with the trident; at the two corners, at the top, Selene's chariot and Apollo's chariot. Between Zeus and the man, finally, Eros and some Erotes push Psyche, the soul, to give life to the first human being.

In his book on Greek Myths Apollodorus narrates the entire story of Prometheus. In 1.7.1-45 he writes:

Prometheus moulded men out of water and earth and gave

them also fire, which, unknown to Zeus, he had hidden in a

stalk of fennel. But when Zeus learned of it, he ordered

Hephaestus to nail his body to Mount Caucasus, which is a

Scythian mountain. On it Prometheus was nailed and kept

bound for many years. Every day an eagle swooped on him and

devoured the lobes of his liver, which grew by night. That was

the penalty that Prometheus paid for the theft of fire until

Hercules afterwards released him, as we shall show in dealing

with Hercules.
