Semiautomatic assassination rifle with silencer and foam-lined catcher. Middle part of trigger guard is removable for use with gloves. Scope is removable; reveals rails when taken off. Integrated backup irons necessitate splitting the rail to allow for the sightline. The pistol grip was raked enough to be comfortable for those used to older rifles and ergonomics were kept at a minimum to be less intrusive. Proved prone to jamming in the field due to catcher mechanism. The forward assist was a welcome addition following tests.

Each year the museum acquires or commissions a piece of contemporary leatherwork to the Waterer Spiers Collection, set up in 1977 in memory of the museum’s founders and intended to inspire, nurture and celebrate contemporary leathercrafting. One of the pieces proposed for this collection is the ‘Prometheus’ Box, made by Tim Meagher in 1987. It is a series of one-off boxes loosely based on Greek mythology. Meagher had been designing and making leather bags, belts and luggage with his wife, using traditional saddlery and harness techniques, but wanted to start using the leather in a more imaginative way, to start expressing ideas and feelings.

Prometheus (/prəˈmiːθiəs/ prə-MEE-thee-əs) is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott, written by Jon Spaihts and Damon Lindelof and starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, and Charlize Theron. It is set in the late 21st century and centers on the crew of the spaceship Prometheus as it follows a star map discovered among the artifacts of several ancient Earth cultures. Seeking the origins of humanity, the crew arrives on a distant world and discovers a threat that could cause the extinction of the human species.
Development of the film began in the early 2000s as a fifth installment in the Alien franchise. Scott and director James Cameron developed ideas for a film that would serve as a prequel to Scott's 1979 science-fiction horror film Alien. By 2003, the development of Alien vs. Predator took precedence, and the project remained dormant until 2009 when Scott again showed interest. Spaihts wrote a script for a prequel to the events of the Alien films, but Scott opted for a different direction to avoid repeating cues from those films. In late 2010, Lindelof joined the project to rewrite Spaihts's script, and he and Scott developed a story that precedes the story of Alien but is not directly connected to that franchise. According to Scott, although the film shares "strands of Alien's DNA, so to speak", and takes place in the same universe, Prometheus explores its own mythology and ideas.

Paul Manship's highly recognizable bronze gilded statue of the Greek legend of the Titan Prometheus recumbent, bringing fire to mankind, features prominently in the sunken plaza at the front of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The model for Prometheus was Leonardo (Leon) Nole, and the inscription from Aeschylus, on the granite wall behind, reads: "Prometheus, teacher in every art, brought the fire that hath proved to mortals a means to mighty ends." Although some sources cite it as the fourth-most familiar statue in the United States, behind the Lincoln Memorial, Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty, Manship was not particularly fond or proud of it.
