One of my favourite things about Prometheus is the fact it is promoting so much discussion... so much CRAZY discussion.

Finished my rendition of Das Newten's amazing Prometheus!

The junkyard of parts in front are all connections that LDD will have nothing to do with, amazing that there are so few! Apart from much angle fiddling, went together logically! They are mostly technic pin type connections or technic hole bricks directly to studs.

It is as authentic to the original as possible, I only cheated 4 times to connect the two engine pods and the two centre rear fairings. I used plates to push them out slightly, I am sure in reality they will fit but LDD thresholds are just too tight! Will post up the file later with a parts list if anyone wants it

In Greek mythology, Prometheus was the creator of mankind. The goddess Athene taught him architecture, astronomy, mathematics, navigation, medicine, and metallurgy, and he in turn taught them to humans. Zeus, the chief of the Greek gods, became angry at Prometheus for making people powerful by teaching them all these useful skills.

When the gods chose Prometheus as arbiter in a dispute, he fooled the gullible Zeus into picking the worst parts of the sacrificial bull by hiding them under a rich layer of fat. To punish Prometheus, Zeus withheld fire from men. "Let them eat their flesh raw," he declared. In response, Prometheus, snuck up to Mount Olympus, lit a torch from the sun, and hid a burning piece of charcoal in a hollow stalk. He slipped away with it and thus delivered fire to mankind.

Zeus, as revenge, tried unsuccessfully to trick Prometheus' brother, Epimetheus, into accepting the beautiful but mischievous Pandora as a gift. Epimetheus, mindful of earlier advice from his brother, refused. Even madder now that his trick had failed, Zeus had Prometheus chained naked to a pillar in the Caucasian mountains. A griffon-vulture ate at Prometheus' liver all day long. During the bitter cold of the mountain night, the liver became whole again.

So it went day after day, year after year. Epimetheus married Pandora in an effort to free his brother. Pandora -- as devilish as she was beautiful -- opened the famous box in which Prometheus had shut up all the evils that might plague mankind: Old Age, Labor, Sickness, Insanity, Vice and Passion.

Only years later, at the behest of Heracles (Hercules), did Zeus free Prometheus.

My attempt at a Lego prometheus ship. Not a big fan of the movie but I love this ship. Its like a smaller ship with a smaller crew. The cockpit is larger

In Rockefeller Center.

Made a bit of progress on the Prometheus. Even managed to get some parts to fit that previously I couldn't. Still a pile of non-fitting parts unless I go off authentic and change the connection methods. Starting to bulk out a bit now though :)

The sculptor exhibited the plaster model of this work at the Salon of 1738. The bird is described as a vulture in the Academy's records and in the Salon catalogue, but is actually carved like an eagle. Adam followed the text by Greek poet Hesiod, in which an eagle sent by Jupiter pecks at Prometheus's liver to punish him for giving fire to mankind.

A gold gilded sculpture created by Paul Manship in 1934 at the Rink at Rockefeller Center

The sculpture of Prometheus, located above the Lower Plaza at Rockefeller Center in New York, is one of the most photographed monuments in the city. Created in 1934 by sculptor Paul Manship, it is made of gilded cast bronze and is 18 feet high. The sculpture depicts the Greek legend Prometheus bringing fire to mankind. This is a crop of a broader shot, which I narrowed to edit out the table umbrellas from the garden below.

Saturn’s moons Janus and Prometheus look close enough to touch in this stunningly detailed view. From just beneath the ring plane, Cassini stares at Janus (181 kilometers, or 113 miles across) on the near side of the rings and Prometheus (102 kilometers, or 63 miles across) on the far side. The image shows that Prometheus is more elongated than Janus.

The view takes in the Cassini Division (4,800 kilometers, or 2,980 miles wide), from its outer edge to about halfway across its width.

The image was taken in visible light with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera on April 29, 2006 at a distance of approximately 218,000 kilometers (135,000 miles) from Janus and 379,000 kilometers (236,000 miles) from Prometheus. Image scale is about 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) per pixel on Janus and 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) per pixel on Prometheus.

'In Greek mythology, Prometheus was a member of the earliest race of gods called Titans. The god Zeus plotted to destroy humanity by depriving the earth of fire.Prometheus, who had fashioned man out of clay, saved humanity by teaching man how to use fire. Thus, Prometheus became a champion of humanity and the first "sculptor" of man.'

Another LDD rendition of one of dasnewtens awesome ships! Very much a WIP this one. Started ages ago, then helped along by Das's very kind breakdown. Trouble is a lot of sub assemblies just wont connect in LDD due to 'illegal' connections or just lack of tolerance! Will try and finish this one, if only to get a decent parts list and a look at some of the cool techniques involved :)
