A way to get more data about a procedure is to parse the text logs trained technicians already use, with a computer program able to parse through them after the fact. I save the pro logs as memo fields in Visual FoxPro but also parsed through them (like using regular expressions or whatever) to fill in the forms (check the GUI boxes). This was using VFP (Visual FoxPro), a Microsoft acquisition, discontinued in 2015.
