Alberta’s Health Minister Adriana LaGrange announced, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose, AB on Monday, March 31, 2025, funding to support health capital projects in rural communities.
Alberta’s government is investing about $330 million over three years to support health capital projects in rural communities across the province.
Alberta’s government is committed to providing the highest quality of health care services for every Albertan, no matter where they live in the province, and this includes making historic investments in rural health care facilities.
To further these goals, Budget 2025’s new Rural Hospital Enhancement Program will improve rural health care facilities to better address rural health challenges and provide greater access to essential health services. If passed, Budget 2025 will provide $15 million to support project planning, which includes conducting facility and functional assessments of rural hospitals to determine what capital planning solutions and services are required to maximize each facility’s potential and better meet the needs of rural communities.
Also attending the announcement were Justin Wright, parliamentary secretary for rural health (south), Ron Wiebe, parliamentary secretary for rural health (north), Jackie Lovely, MLA for Camrose, and Patrick Dumelie, chief executive officer, Covenant. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo by Marc Barnes) Brig. Gen. Todd Semonite, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), North Atlantic Division (NAD), discusses project plans for the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital with Corps employees during a recent visit to the site. The Norfolk District is the lead district for the $806 million hospital. The new 120-bed, state-of-the-art facility is being constructed on south Main Post, and will be part of an integrated healthcare network providing medical services to beneficiaries and the nation’s warriors. Construction began in November 2007, and the completed hospital is expected to begin operations by spring 2011. The new hospital replaces the DeWitt Army Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, which opened its doors in 1957. Within the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) decisions, the hospital is one component of a medical restructuring designed to increase overall hospital and outpatient care to all service members and veterans. Other elements include a joint National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and closure of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Various districts of the North Atlantic Division are administering and executing more than $4 billion in military construction projects at Fort Belvoir, the majority of which are a result of 2005 BRAC decisions.

Yes! Anyone can build a pretty, small, sensational shed to manage and organize outdoor stuff. Instead of placing that stuff in a ragged store room, Customize your garden shed to be a decorative focal point of your yard or garden. This idea presented here will help you to build a decorative shed in your garden for the dual purpose.

In addition to using this group photo for the Band Yearbook Project, I also had plans to use it for an Art Class project. We were exploring various photography and darkroom concepts, including negative imagery and how covering certain areas of a piece of photo paper will keep that area white when exposed to light and developed.
I had "accidentally" stumbled upon an interesting darkroom trick, and planned to utilize this trick for my project. We developed our photos by placing the exposed photo paper into Developer fluid, followed by a Stop Bath (to "stop" the image from developing and further) and then Fixer fluid (which "fixed" the image onto the paper). I learned, entirely by accident, that if you put the exposed photo paper into the Fixer fluid FIRST, it would eliminate the image (since that portion of the paper would be "fixed" BEFORE it had a chance to be developed). I then wondered what would happen if I were to intentionally place fixer fluid on certain areas of the exposed paper to prevent those areas from capturing an image.
My project plan was to print the photo of the band group picture, but remove everyone's faces, and replace them with my own artwork that I would have to draw in. Initially, I was going to achieve this by utilizing the red filter over the light source, which would allow me to see the image on the photo paper without exposing it, and then place small cut-out pieces of paper over the faces. This proved unwieldy, because that was a lot of small pieces of paper and they would all have to be different sizes. I then hit upon the idea of taking a small paintbrush and applying fixer fluid over the faces, thereby negating the area on the photo paper so that, when I removed the red light filter and exposed the paper to the image, everything but their faces would be printed onto the photo. As you can see from this particular attempt, I was only partially successful. Some of the faces I just plain missed while on others I did not use enough Fixer fluid to completely erase the faces.
