My thrifting finds from a couple of weekends ago. Vintage craft books and a crocheted afghan. I thought my kitties would like it. I had to weave in a few ends and wash the thrift store smell off, but it's been great since then.
Total cost for all three: $2.80. Score!
At my grandmother's house again today, continuing to clean it out. To be honest, it is much harder than I let on. I look around, and all I see are memories. They're good ones, make no mistake, but part of me is sad that she isn't here any more to make new ones with. And I see things, and wonder if it is the last time I will se them....like these flowers, blooming early outside her door. I used to trim her hedges for her, and help her pick weeds, and throw apples from the apple tree into the woods for the deer. Part of me honestly thought it would always be that way, that my kids would grow up doing the same, and that she would be eternally somewhere between 70 and 85. Of course, that's not how things work. So I am capturing things as I can to remember her.

And dreamed of para-para-paradise ... Every time she closed her eyes
I did this for the bathroom fortnightly theme. It was about 5 to midnight on deadline day when I realised I had another gap in my 366 project – now known as a year with a camera, although I haven’t renamed it. So I didn’t get round to posting in time as I frantically went through my memory cards. I found the missing shots and am still keeping up, just. Anyway my bathroom shot. Er…. not actually my bathroom :)
january 13, 2008 -
bathroom redux.
so, a little while ago, after complaining about the shower in the bathroom that we currently share, erik rubbed his head and said i can 'have my own bathroom'... and proceeded to open the random door next to the closet in the bedroom that i never really paid attention to. i REALLY wasn't prepared for what laid beyond... but i'm getting excited to fix it up! my first REAL house project~ yahoo~
i'm envisioning all white subway tiles, a beautiful claw foot tub, a black and white checkered floor, a wall of vintage hand mirrors, a 1930's makeup vanity and bench, maybe a tiny sparkly chandelier and a new sky light! ooh la la! so much to do!!
218/366 Friday 5 August 2016 - I forgot to take a picture today until it was almost bed time and I was looking at my travel blurb books and thinking about where I might be off next.
Camera on tripod? 10 seconds
Mirror to let me look at the LCD while I pose? 15 seconds
Enable remote control? 5 seconds
Fight the camera's tendency to go for very high ISO even when using flash? a long miserable hour.
This is the business end of a Celestron USB microscope. I didn't expect this shot to be such a pain in the ass, but at the same time it was fun and forced me to make some weird choices. For example, using the 10-30VR instead of the 10mm prime (I needed LESS light, so I had to pick the worse of the two lenses), switching to Aperture priority instead of P, things like that.
I started yesterday to talk with my friend Allan in English. So I will write here in English too. Only to practice. :)
*Sorry about my mistakes! I’m learning.*
“That’s all folks!”

Eu comecei ontem a falar em inglês com meu amigo Allan. Então eu vou escrever aqui também. Só pra praticar. :)
*Desculpe os meus erros! Estou aprendendo.*
“Isso é tudo pessoal!”
Jul 5 - The Boston Red Sox finally prevailed against the Seattle Mariners. This shot was snapped from the walkway to the Green Monster seats.
It sure has been nice to see the sun and blue sky!!
Trying something with a little more texture to it, not very happy with the results though, the shiny skin makes it look like its not focused :(
I drove with Vinh to go check out his potential new home at PSU. The place was really cute, even down to the white picket fence. [Project 366, May 10]
Our squirrels have taken to sucking the sap from our trees. Then this one took some time to clean his/her tail...

75/366 - My baby bump at 12 weeks. I maaay be pushing out just a little, but it is mostly baby. Can't wait for the first trimester to be over.
I was about to throw my camera in my bag / the ground, after a mediocre couple of photos over lunch. Then a police man rode accross the intersection in front of me on a horse. I fumbled the aperture, my camera still set from shooting mountains, and got 3 shots in. Two were hopelessly blurry but I got extremely lucky with this one.

The Newfoundland Chocolate Company has a series of chocolates named after Nova Scotia icons. From left to right: "Bay of Fundy", The Bluenose" and "Annapolis Royal".
Graceland, friends. This is the third time I have visited Graceland and most likely the last. I love it and I love Elvis but damn...including parking I have spent over $100 on a dead guy's house! Still, it's something that everyone should experience for sure. My dream is to still one day make it upstairs. For those of you who have been there, you know that it is off limits to the public. Of course that only makes it that much more alluring to me! The guy who drove our bus (you take a bus across the street) said he grew up with Elvis and traveled with him, too. He said that the two windows on the right were Elvis' bedroom and the two on the left were his office. The window in the middle is reportedly his bathroom where they found him the day he died. Lisa Marie's bedroom is behind that, all according to the driver. Very interesting. I just think it would be a total trip to see the ENTIRE house. Oh, Elvis! I love you so.
