`sasrai’ appeal turned into demand of seven billion `Consume With Care’

To

Mr. Achim Steiner, Executive Director

Attention: Mr. Naysan Sahba

Acting Director of the Division of Communications Public Information and Spokesperson

Office of the Executive Director

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

Nairobi, Kenya

Subject: Appeal to have a resolution to hang sasrai banner for one week June 03 to 07 at each UN related office gate across the globe in honor of World Environment Day.

Dear Sir

Greetings from sasrai-Movement

We are in 100% agreement with UNEP belief influencing consumption and production patterns at the local level would have a significant impact at the global level, because resource efficiency facilitates the transition towards a green economy and global sustainable development.

Since 2004 our appeal is we must get each one caring to each particle of resource. sasrai-Movement aimed at every person would have a mindset `save a bit in every step’. Street beggar to state driver will save resource no matter how small it is. Last 11 years we have tried our level best to disseminate the message to people from all works of life.We are thankful to the voter and UNEP for the slogan ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’. We consider this is institutionalization of our appeal.

To attain the resilient and resource efficient cities; sustainable transport and mobility; and integrated solid waste management, globe in need of resource efficient individual, institution, organization finally the government. To materialize the utmost need, we are in needing voice from each corner of globe. Since 2011 we approached to the honorable minister for environment and forest & minister for education of Bangladesh to have an initiative to keep a sasrai banner in each educational institution in honor of world environment day. Based on our appeal honorable Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong passed a request to all Deputy Commissioner of his division to do the same.

Bringing behavioral and attitudinal change is the toughest job and we have no chance to spare a single second. Nature demands absolute care that includes concerted, cooperative and collaborative effort. UNEP could have an initiative to get each UN office and official - resource efficient first. And keeping a sasrai banner at each office gate across the globe for one week June 03 to 07 in honor of World Environment Day could be the first step.

Scientists estimate that humans will consume twice as many resources as the planet can support by 2050. At the rate things are going, the Earth in the coming decades could cease to be a “safe operating space” for human beings. The Planet is in Need of Each Creature Equality, Gender Equality and `sasrai’ Living (Stop Consumption Slavery or Stop Advertisement Administered Lifestyle). Albert Einstein opine "Those who have the privilege to know have the duty to act."

Kindest Regards

SM Farid Uddin Akhter

Secretariat In-charge

sasrai-Movement

NB.

a. Since 2004 we worked without any financial assistance from any donor. We volunteered aimed at better earth for each creature. We believe voluntarism needed to be Prudent, Provident, Proficient and Relentless, Fearless, Greedless. We must have zeal to offer a habitable earth to our next generation. We owe to our next generation to offer the earth as we received and we vow to be unswerving, unshakeable.

b. Humanity in need of Climate Responsible Community, Climate Compatible Development. sasrai ONLY THE PATH TO SAVE MOTHER PLANET EARTH, NATURE. sasrai only the path to Eliminate Racial Discrimination - End violence against WOMEN and CHILDREN. sasrai only the path to end POVERTY, VULNERABILITY, HUNGER, DISASTER, CLIMATE Threat. Each second, minute, hour day needed to be spent considering earth, environment and humanity. We must get each child caring to each particle of food and resource. Wish the Peace, Justice, Dignity and Rights for each - save a bit, reserve, preserve, rejuvenate and conserve resources.

c. Scientist Opine

Earth is halfway to being inhospitable to life

We have already crossed four “planetary boundaries.” They are the extinction rate; deforestation; the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere; and the flow of nitrogen and phosphorous (used on land as fertilizer) into the ocean. Scientist shown human activities — economic growth, technology, consumption — are destabilizing the global environment,”

 "Human security will be progressively threatened as the climate changes," the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCCC) warned in its overview report. The Pentagon agrees. "Rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, climbing sea levels, and more extreme weather events will intensify the challenges of global instability, hunger, poverty and conflict,"

Scientists estimate that humans will consume twice as many resources as the planet can support by 2050. At the rate things are going, the Earth in the coming decades could cease to be a “safe operating space” for human beings.

At the rate things are going, the Earth in the coming decades could cease to be a “safe operating space” for human beings.

Africa Will Starve and Asia Will Drown in 30 Years Due to Climate Change

People in Asia and the Pacific are four times more likely to be affected by natural disaster than in Africa and 25 times more than in Europe or North America?

Global warming could cause an 18 percent drop in world food production by 2050

15 Cities Threatened by Climate Change

The World Bank alarm bells are just the latest to sound about the havoc climate change and man-made global warming will cause to the planet.

The World Health Organization predicts that climate change will cause 250,000 additional deaths per year around the globe between 2030 and 2050, primarily from malaria, diarrhea, heat exposure and malnutrition.

On January 30, 2019, City of Laredo Municipal Court Judge Jesus M. Dominguez announced the First Amnesty Program allowing citizens to clear their outstanding warrant and traffic violations. Judge Dominguez is offering the amnesty program from February 19, 2019 through March 8, 2019. This includes all cases pending, capias warrants, arrest warrants, capias pro-fines, and DPS Omni warrants.

Municipal Court clerks are available to help the public with any information they may need. Individuals that would like to know the total amount of fines due before the amnesty program begins may visit the court, located at 4610 Maher Avenue. Individuals with outstanding warrants that appear for court will not be arrested. In order to qualify for this program and possibly be cleared of the outstanding debt, individuals must be prepared to pay at least half of the amount of their outstanding fine. However, final determination of the amount to be paid is on a case-by-case basis as decided by Judge Dominguez.

It is very important that the public take advantage of the amnesty program. Municipal Court does have a warrant division that issues and executes warrants on a daily basis; therefore, it is always best that individuals visit the court and take care of their outstanding cases.

Reminder to all, Municipal Court holds court sessions twice a day, morning and afternoon. Individuals that would like to take care of their outstanding cases may appear for court between 8am - 9am for the morning session, or between 12pm – 1pm for the afternoon session.

*I did not go to the 500, but instead the road course races with Cup, Xfinity and Trucks, held a week later. This program encompassed the entire Speedweeks from the Busch Clash to the Road Course weekend, as evident by the dates on the cover.

Here is my second attempt!

While I'm not a fan of hotels with women names I like them better than those containing traditional words - Park, City, Square and likes.

This were one of few shots from Rollei Prego 30 with film I unloaded from Minox 35 midroll after I discovered my repair attempt isn't too successful and shutter isn't closing (but I still got some pictures before problem returned). My Prego 30 overexposes - I learned this from previous rolls so I modified DX code of Paradies 100 (Kodak Gold?) film to ISO200 and think this is the way to use it.

Am Hof historically is one of the most important places of Vienna. It is located between Bognergasse, Naglergasse, Heidenschuss, Färbergasse, Jews square and Schulhof in the oldest part of the city in the immediate vicinity of the medieval ghetto.

History

Am Hof (1865) with armory (left), Marian column, "House to the Golden Ball", palais Collalto and Kirche am Hof (right)

The Civil armory 1737

The square Am Hof was already part of the Roman military camp Vindobona and was uninhabited in the early Middle Ages.

Between 1155 and about 1275, the completion of the New Castle at the site of today's Swiss tract of the Hofburg, was here the Court of the Babenberg, that Henry Jasomirgott built himself in 1155/56, after he had moved his residence from Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria) to Vienna. This residence was a complex of buildings around an open space, so a court, with the home of the Duke as a center. To the north-west and southwest the "court" leaned against the wall of the Roman fort, into town, it was limited by gates against the bourgeois Old Town and Jewish Town. Here received Heinrich Jasomirgott and his wife Theodora in 1165 Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, who was on the Third Crusade to the Holy Land.

Under Henry's son Leopold V was the tournament and subsequent market place 1177-1194 scene of glittering events where singers and poets such as Reinmar of Haguenau and his student Walther von der Vogelweide appeared in minstrelsy-contests.

With the move of the Prince Regnants in the Swiss wing of the then much smaller Hofburg in 1275, came the "Babenbergerpfalz" (Am Hof) in the late 13th century to the Princely Mint. The houses no. 10 and no. 12 the neighboring ghetto around the Jews square were incorporated. From 1340 At the Court were held markets. In 1365 it came to the temporary accommodation of the Carmelites in the Mint, 1386 to the official donation by Albrecht III., the place for the first time being called "Am Hof". The Carmelites instead of Roman Mint court chapel (Münzhofkapelle) erected a three-nave Gothic monastery church, that they finished about 1420. The Gothic choir still today is visible from the alley behind it. The Carmelites had already owned the house of the Jew Muschal, to that they obtained yet more houses, inter alia, the by Albrecht III. purchased house of the poet Peter Suchenwirt.

The place was originally isolated from the nearby Freyung by houses that left only a narrow connection alley and were demolished in 1846. As early as from the 14th century, it was used as a market, later also as a place of execution. 1463 was here the mayor Wolfgang Holzer on command of Albrecht Vl. executed. 1515 the Habsburg-Jagellonian double wedding of Emperor Maximilian I was held here. In the 16th and 17th centuries the place was also called Crab market, since saltwater fish and crabs were offered. In the 18th century at the market only vegetables and fruits were sold.

After the handing over of the church and convent to the Jesuits in 1554, the square was listening to the name of "At the Upper Jesuits" and was the scene of spiritual performances of the Jesuits before their church. After the dissolution of the Jesuit order in 1773 the place was again called "Am Hof". The convent building of the Jesuits was 1783-1913 the seat of the Imperial War Council and the War Ministry.

1782 Pius VI. from the terrace of the church gave the blessing Urbi et Orbi. On August 6, 1806 also from the loggia of the church announced an Imperial herald the end of the Holy Roman Empire, at the top of which the Habsburgs had stood for over half a millennium, and the abdication of the Imperial crown by Francis II.:"... that We the band, which has bound us until now to the body politic of the German Empire, as having been dissolved consider".

Took place on 14 March 1848 in the wake of the 1848 revolution the storming of the Arsenal, on 6 October the minister of war Theodor Count Baillet von Latour was pulled out from the building, killed and by the crowd hung in the middle of the square on a lantern. The place for a short time was called "People's Square".

1842-1918 and 1939-1942, the Christmas market Am Hof enjoyed great popularity. In 1973, arose here the Vienna Flea market, which in 1977 due to space limitations was relocated on the Naschmarkt. Today again yearly a Christmas market is taking place.

In 1892, before the building of the k.k. Hofkriegsrathsgebäude (the War Department), the equestrian statue of Field Marshal Radetzky of Caspar von Zumbusch was unveiled, which was transferred in 1912 before the newly constructed building of the War Department At Stubenring. The place of the Hofkriegsratsgebäude in 1915 took the Headquarters of the Länderbank.

Furthermore, Am Hof was still the main police station (Hauptwache), the Nunciature and the Lower chamber office.

In Carol Reed's film "The Third Man" (filmed in 1948) the place Am Hof appears prominently, on it stands the advertising column, through which one enters the underworld of the Vienna sewer system.

1962-63 in the course of excavations for an underground garage under the square Am Hof remains of the Roman settlement have been found. In the basement of the present fire station in original location a piece of the main channel of the camp can be visited, which absorbed the wastewater from the southern camp and led it into the Deep Ditch to the brook Ottakringerbach.

Pope John Paul II. did as his predecessor had done and gave in 1983 on the occasion of his visit to Vienna from the loggia also the Easter blessing.

On September 7, 2007 Pope Benedict XVI celebrated with approximately 7,000 people in the pouring rain as the first major program of his Austria trip one Stational Mass. After just six minutes, the microphone of the Pope and the video walls became inoperative, which is why the speech of Benedict XVI. had to be stopped.
