Secretary Landgraf was the keynote speaker May 21 as the Class of 2015 graduated from the Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc., with the theme of “Soaring to New Heights.”
“When you are young and pregnant, you face so many changes,” Secretary Landgraf told the six graduates at the ceremony attended by more than 150 people at the Wyoming United Methodist Church. “Life is a whirlwind of emotions. And you have to make so many decisions. Those decisions can be difficult, but you made yours -- with the support from people who love you -- and are clearly moving forward.” The Delaware Adolescent Program, Inc. (DAPI) was founded in 1969 in New Castle as a way for pregnant teens to continue their education while receiving pre-natal care. Today, DAPI has centers in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties, serving girls age 12 to 19. Between 2008 and 2013, DAPI had a graduation rate of 98 percent. In 2015, all six seniors graduated. Executive Director Lucy O’Donnell called it a “small, but mighty graduating class.” “You chose to succeed in your education,” she said.
During the ceremony, graduates and younger students received academic and other achievement awards. To learn more about DAPI, go to www.dapi.org

Július elejére a NEOWISE üstökös fényessége 1 magnitúdóra erősödött , messze meghaladva a 2020-ban érdekesnek remélt korábbi üstökösök, a C/2020 F8 (SWAN) és a C/2019 Y4 (ATLAS) fényerejét.

Visitors attended a day-long studio workshop by independent instructor, artist, and conservator Corey D’Augustine. Participants were introduced to working in abstraction and expressionism through employing the painting techniques of the period, drawing inspiration from artists such as Robert Delaunay, Henri Matisse, Kazimir Malevich, Vasily Kandinsky, Ernst Ludwig and Franz Marc. As part of the workshop, participants visited The Great Upheaval: Modern Art From the Guggenheim Collection, 1910–1918 on view February 4–June 1, 2011 to view works of art in person, then moved to the studio to paint a small canvas based on these works.
To register for Corey D’Augustine’s upcoming Kandinsky studio workshop on Nov 5, visit www.guggenheim.org/courses.

Program Description: "Bay Street—emblem of Canada's banking industry—is closed. The smell of cotton candy and raucous music fill the air. Two midway rides reflect the whirling, tilting exhiliration of the bull market and its less than thrilling collapse. Free to the public and staffed by recently downsized businesspeople, the rides invite audience members to kinetically contemplate the ups and downs of the recent economic crisis. Out of the darkened financial district, screams will be heard!" Artists: Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan.

Selftest running
Had some stickers on it: analog board defect, processor board defect, keyboard defect, no input possible, fan not working.
I'm making a screensaver out of Hana at the moment, obviously a screensaver shouldn't draw too much CPU or it will have a negative effect on anything you might be running, like a render.
Back in the 90's I remember reading an article in a game mag previewing this game:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azrael's_Tear
Something they talked about in the article was that their renderer would drop the resolution the faster you moved, so that as they described it if you were running down a corridor everything would be fast and smooth, but if you stopped to look at something the resolution would increase, giving you more detail.
I remember trying this game very briefly back then and couldn't really see much evidence of this (maybe that's how good their implementation was) but I've managed to track down a copy by means I won't go into any further and am looking forward to having a go to see if they imlemented it in the end.
Anyways, for Hana I am planning something much simpler in that it will simply drop the resolution it renders at and stretch out the result using bilinear filtering.
The shot is rendering in 381x286 and stretching out (without bloom or motion blur), naturally the minimum will have to be quite a bit higher to make sure it doesn't break up lines too much like in that shot.
I don't intend to continually drop and raise the resolution, just drop it until we reach 30 fps or so, will probably keep the fps it tries to reach quite low, only mac minis and older macbook should have to put in any effort though. (The mac mini was the target platform).
