Uniformed Women Peacekeepers Training Programme (UWPT): Leadership and Empowerment Workshop

As part of the Uniformed Women Peacekeepers Training Programme (UWPT) in the Republic of Korea (ROK) the Leadership and Empowerment Workshop, which took place on October 21-22, 2024, provided an intensive experience for 25 women military officers from the Asia-Pacific region. This training component was designed to complement the Standard UN Staff Officers Course (UNSOC) that was delivered to the trainees on 7-18 October. The specialized curriculum, delivered by experts from UN Women, helped the participants to anticipate and respond to unique challenges and opportunities they are likely to encounter in UN peacekeeping operations. This two-day intensive workshop was organized by the UN Women Centre of Excellence in Seoul, in partnership with the ROK Ministry of National Defense and Peace Keeping Operations Center, with support from the ROK Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
