Through Compassion this year's Group showed that service can be fun and that there is no joy like helping others who may not be as fortunate. Through Sustainability the group was able to enhance their knowledge of the what it means to preserve life on Earth. Discovery Program 2011 "Become a part of the Program, Become a part of the Passion, Become a part of the PRIDE."
Our campers had a great time during the 2015 Westminster Summer Programs, enjoying camps such as basketball, tennis, art and the always-popular Camp Wildcat.

1) Jueves 27 de Noviembre 19 hrs presentación del Libro "Scuola Mía", proyecto documental que rescata la vida subjetiva de la Scuola Italiana de Valparaíso. Libro publicado por el Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales y Fotogamia. El libro será presentado por Loreto Solis, co-fundadora del portal fotogamia y la fotógrafa Maite Larregui, autora del libro. Al cabo de la presentación habrá un coctel y serán sorteados dos ejemplares entre los asistentes.
2) Viernes 28 de Noviembre 18hrs. Exhibición del Documental "La Ciudad de los Fotógrafos" y presentación del libro "Multitudes en Sombras" que indaga sobre la historia de la Asociación de fotógrafos Independientes de Chile, AFI, a cargo de Gonzalo Leiva, Doctor en Historia y Mauricio del Pino, Docente de Duoc UC. La publicación fue financiada por Fondart y es producto de una profunda investigación sobre el trabajo documental de más de 70 fotógrafos chilenos, muchos de ellos desconocidos.
3) Sábado 29 de De Noviembre: Maratón de películas y documentales con temáticas fotográficas:
De 12hrs a 14hrs y de las 15hrs hasta las 20hrs:
• "Blow-Up" de Michelangelo Antonioni,
• "Un hombre con una cámara" de Dziga Vertov,
• "Imágenes Obscenas" sobre la obra del fotógrafo Robert Mapplethorpe;
• Documentales: "La Fotografía hecha Difícil" Eugène Smith, "Fotógrafo de Guerra" sobre James Nachtwey.
Los visionados serán acompañados por una introducción crítica a cargo de Fotogamia.
4) Domingo 30 de Noviembre: Fotolibre V región. Desde las 10hrs hasta las 13:30hrs, Paseo Gervasoni 448, Cerro Concepción, Valparaíso. Exposición al aire libre de fotografías con temática libre que se realiza anualmente en el paseo Gervasoni de la ciudad Puerto. Fotolibre V región invita todos los amantes de la fotografía a participar con tres imágenes. Se premiarán los tres primeros lugares.

Global Citizenship Program (GCP) 67 | Pathways to Global Citizenship: Roots and Routes

Tomorrow's leaders must think and act as global citizens in order to address the challenges facing humanity. Broadly defined, global citizens are people who are consciously prepared to live and work in the complex interdependent society of the 21st century and contribute to improving the common global welfare of our planet and its inhabitants. The program aims to engage participating students as global citizens, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, values, and commitment to:
Understand the nature of globalization, including its positive and negative impacts around the world, and realize how it is transforming human society;
Appreciate the diversity of humanity in all of its manifestations, from local to global, and interact with different groups of people to address common concerns;
Recognize the critical global challenges that are compromising humanity's future and see how their complexity and interconnections make solutions increasingly difficult; and
Collaborate with different sets of stakeholders, by thinking globally and acting locally, to resolve these critical challenges and build a more equitable and sustainable world.
The session format includes lectures and discussions with an international faculty as well as formal and informal work in small groups. Topics addressed in plenary lectures and discussions include globalization and global responsibility; the social, economic, and political aspects of migration; the historical legacy of the Holocaust, human rights, humanitarian intervention; sustainable development; and the implications of the United States' influence around the world.
Participants will consider how these issues relate to their current situations and future personal, educational, and professional plans. They will also have the opportunity to develop projects and activities related to the session topic that can be implemented at their colleges and universities, in their local communities, and beyond.
The Annual 4-H Association Meeting was recently held in Baton Rouge, August 19 – 22, 2008. The program opened for the entire membership with a board supper at the Governor’s Mansion. As part of the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana 4-H program, the association invited the charter members of the association who formed the organization in 1976. Twenty-three charter members attended and participated in the board supper. Dr. Stanley Lamendola, first Association 4-H President presented a program on the formation of the organization and photos of the charter members attending the program. Each of the charter members were presented a 100th anniversary emblem for their role and support in creating the Louisiana 4-H Agents Association. The Association consisted of several educational seminars and guest speakers such as Coach Paul Mainieri of LSU, Monica Ford of the Attorney General’s Office, and Carol Pierce, motivational speaker.
