An early programmable thermostat made by the Minneapolis co. The clock and the thermostat must both be separately wound with an included key. Teeth on the back of the clock can be set for different times to trigger the thermostat to turn up or down. I have been told that this thermostat was originally located in the Selden, Kansas high school.

The Soviet space program comprised the rocketry and space exploration programs conducted by the former Soviet Union (USSR) from the 1930s until its dissolution in 1991. Over its sixty-year history, this primarily classified military program was responsible for a number of pioneering accomplishments in space flight.
I love it when the interactive program guide truncates a show title in such a way to make the program sound 1000x more awesome...

As I was switching channels a little while ago I I landed on the Travel Channel where they were hunting snapping turtles for food and next the History Channel where folks in Louisiana were filling their quotas for "harvesting" alligators. While I understand the necessity for wildlife management once humans are involved in ecosystems, I think its so sad that we through the media sensationalize the killing of creatures so humans can have soup and leather. Alll of these creatures have been on the earth between 100 and 200+ million years. The only thing they have done all those millions of years was to live their own lives...Makes me sad.The picture here is of a Green iguana. Green iguana (Iguana iguana). Iguanas are native to Mexico and Central and South America. They are prevelant in the pet trade but they should not be kept as "pets." Lizards have been on the earth for 250 million years. On September 8th, 2014, we held a gathering at the Witherspoon Building to launch our new Brain Trust donor program and to thank our supporters and to release new, exciting data linking our program to increases in student test scores. At the event, guests were invited to participate in a photo booth with bubbles, to create a mural illustrating the ‘creative classroom’, and members of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony performed throughout the evening.
The Brain Trust program provides incentives for all levels of donors starting at only $10. Follow this link to see all of the ways in which you can participate in this new program and support us in our goal to provide creative classroom experiences for all K-8 students in the Portland, Oregon area - not just those in affluent neighborhoods and high-performing schools at bit.ly/JoinTheBrainTrust.
We would like to thank all of our donors, supporters and volunteers, and a huge thank you to our event sponsors, who made this gathering possible:

I have to keep reminding myself that I wanted the "Stuff On My Screen" to be a completely random dump on whatever was going on at the time, regardless of whether it was looking good at the time or not maybe I'll put some sort of automatic system in place when I get some time.

6-52 Air Defense Artillery
SUWON AIR BASE — Female Soldiers in the 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery met in Suwon Gym for the unit’s female mentorship program.
The training began with education on sexual assault prevention and response, followed by light stretching and upper body exercising.
First Lt. James Eide, who led the mentorship session, conducted a class on Cross fit, combining several exercises. Before doing the cross fit, he taught them theory about how to do exercise efficiently and when is the good time for exercise. He also taught about nutrition, explaining ways to maintain and improve health by dividing nutrition into fat, protein, vitamin, and mineral categories. After the classroom instruction, a workout followed.
Private First Class Nancy Cumberledge found the training worthwhile, and especially liked its emphasis on life values and good health.
Th mentorship programs aims to help women of 6-52 navigate their careers and guide them in successfully combining full-time careers with satisfying personal and family lives.
As many of you may know, my mom had been battling breast cancer for several years. She took ill in September, and I went up to visit. I was glad I did, for I was able to spend just a tad shy of a week with her before she left this earth.
This is the inside of the program I designed using one of my photos for her services.
Since my mom loved my photos and was always happiest receiving homemade things from her 5 children and numerous grandchildren, I was honored to create the memorial pamphlets and slideshow.
I love my mom dearly and she is already greatly missed.
The Serenity Prayer was her favorite....

Success! (for now...)
The different spaces (world, eye, view ,etc etc) were doing my head in, but I got it working in the end, everything is in local space, which means.. something, but it looks the same as what I knocked up in RenderMonkey, so I'm happy.
It needs good normals, otherwise the reflections look a bit too wonky (not in a good way), but I plan on using it on a manually/programmatically generated object, so I'll just make sure I do.
Now I just have to convert it to HLSL as Ogre seems to run DirectX quite a bit faster than OpenGL.
Never though I'd be touching any of the DirectX pipeline, but as long as it is just a shader or two it should be quick to get up and running on OpenGL again.
From December 26-28, 1938 (if the written notation on the cover is accurate).
Nice rendition of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
