Now that I'm working back in my apartment, I can get some more shots of our local squirrels hanging around on the roof. I was leaning across the safety rail, foot hooked underneath, to get this one. The squirrel was very obliging, and surprisingly not skittish.
I'm struck by how mouselike it looks. The fluffy tail precludes that, and they're always seen from far away. But the almond-shaped head and pronounced overbite show its rodential descent. (Probably other things too, and more definitively. But then, I'm no zoologist.)

A friend (artist) needed a black and white profile photo, so we took a stroll outside and tried a few different backgrounds. She eventually chose this one. Feel free to comment!
