When I saw this male greater kudu (tragelaphus strepsiceros) he was crossing a dry grassy area in The Kalahari Desert, Botswana. He paused while walking over a sandy track and gave me this profile.
Grounded Northern Cardinal, Cardinalis cardinalis. Likely the mate of the previous one, although I think we may have a couple of resident pairs. Had to crank the sliders pretty hard to pull this guy out of the shadows, so Happy Sliders Sunday!
A yellow-vented bulbul (pycnonotus goiavier) in profile, atop a shrub. Photographed in Khuk Khak, Phang Nga, Thailand.
A great hornbill (buceros bicornis) showing off its imposing profile. I managed to get closer to this great hornbill - others were perched in the topmost branches of very tall trees. Photographed on the island of Pangkor, in Malaysia.

A Malabar pied hornbill (anthracoceros coronatus) displaying, in profile, its improbable beak and casque. This was one of a pair I saw in Kumana National Park, Sri Lanka. More at "Colin Pacitti Wildlife Photography & Fishing Travels" - www.colin-pacitti.com.

I took this photo for this week's Happy Caturday group theme 'Profile View' and Filou volunteered to participate in the photoshoot. The other volunteered is a stuffed toy, a wolf who resides on my sister's sofa. Personally I think that the wolf rather looks like a coyote, he always reminds me of the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote.
