Shooting these lovely birds in the mangroves can be so challenging, except when they decide to take on a higher profile, as this Great Egret did this morning. Their beauty, once a magnet for slaughter, is now safely on full display.

I took this photo for this week's Happy Caturday group theme 'Profile View' and Filou volunteered to participate in the photoshoot. The other volunteered is a stuffed toy, a wolf who resides on my sister's sofa. Personally I think that the wolf rather looks like a coyote, he always reminds me of the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote.

There was a scenic lookout on the road out of Mount Rushmore park and this is the pic I captured there! It was so fantastic to see this elegant profile of President Washington!!!
