So you want a surface peircing?

My advice to you is to get it done by a professional piercer or you will end up with a piercing that looks like mine did (see above).

I highly reccomend Tracy perkings from Pierce Artist.

She is considered the country's leading piercer. The woman knows what shes doing!

At pierce artist you can also pay £5 for three piercings if you enroll as a model.

Also, surface piercings DO NOT last forever. This is simply because as humans, our skin sheds. Therefore if we place things under it, they will eventually get closer to the surface and pop out.

Getting pierced professionally can increase the amount of time you have the piercing and can reduce the amount of problems you will come across with it.

So don't go to some crappy backstreet sod who doesn't have a clue about your safety.

Get it done right :)

When I saw the horse jumping and moving aggressively towards the side of the arena, and closer to the fence, instinctively I pushed myself half way through the fence to get an angle to shoot the action I could anticipate. I was far enough shooting with the 400mm lens. It looked scary for the cowboy!

It took me a while to understand what really happened, even as I reviewed the image in the camera.

The cowboy got ejected towards the fence. It saved him that he turned acrobatically in mid-air holding on to the top of the fence.

Thank God and luckily he escaped this one unharmed!

Manel Segarra élu notre meilleur photographe de mai 2008

Notre meilleur photographe du mois de mai est un catalan. Il est notre artiste coup de cœur de ce printemps 2008. Il s'agit de Manel Segarra, un passionné de photo qui a réalisé une très belle série d'images sur les animaux de la Réserve Africaine de Sigean à l'occasion de sa dernière visite sur le parc le 11 mai 2008. Manel a décidé de partager avec nous le résultat de son savoir-faire, des photos d'une qualité exceptionnelle prises avec un Canon EOS 400D couplé à un objectif 100-400 IS.

Part of growing as a photographer is stepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things. For this shot, I decided to try and get some flow by shooting handheld during a 1/4th second exposure. I wrapped the strap and tucked in tight and got pretty close to what I wanted. This can come in handy during shoots where carrying and setting up a tripod would slow me down.

Removi a combo teal+Na Mira com ~gálimas nozóio, mas não dá pra ficar para o resto da vida com uma mani toda lascada, por mais linda que ela seja... então a fila andou. =P

Recebi este lindo e mais dois vidrinhos da marca numa troquinha com a Dora <3, portanto ele é filho quase único. Tem um tom quente e vibrante de roxo claro, que é mutante, conforme a temperatura da luz do ambiente (luz amarela deixa o tom mais frio e escuro, e luz branca o torna mais rosado, quase neon), e como é o tipo de cor que vira rosa num piscar de olhos, guardei na geladeira ehaueha embrulhado em papel alumínio.

A fórmula e o pincel são bons de trabalhar, mas só consegui boa cobertura (sem manchas e no tom exato do vidrinho) com 3 camadas generosas. Seca rápido e com acabamento meio acetinado/emborrachado/semi brilho, enfim... mas não usei TC, pois pretendo dar um up nele e não quis arriscar ficar com unha gorda no final.
