Design Within Reach Product

Spring 2008

Collaboration With: Paul Lindstrom, Aaron Guenther, Mike Tews

Description: To work collaboratively creating a product line designed for the consumer base of Design Within Reach . The final product was to be integrated with the icon imagery created from earlier in the semester. For me this was the Venus Flytrap Icon.

Solution: Exile was the name chosen for our group with the concept in mind of going against the norm, being creative and an innovative thinker. The final product was a portable notepad decorated with imagery from the four icons within our group. This notepad is meant to be latched onto a keychain or belt in order to always be on the person using it. It is meant to capture those sudden jolts of inspiration and creativity whenever they occur.

Typeface: Bank Gothic

A small bunch of vaguely connected photos from around and about Glasgow. At this time of year I'm always on the look-out for new ideas that might be incorporated into Craft & Design or Product Design projects. I'll taga and name these properly soon when I can find some more time.

After coming up with the tag line "Transform Tradition," [ 2 one 5 ] Creative embarked on a full, global advertising campaign that repositioned the brand back in line with the rebellious roots of snowboarding by using classic Russian revolution style imagery.

Our groups Dezac brief was to design a product for pedicures. I found that the majority of pedicure products were either manual or similar to a belt sander. I decided to design a product that used orbital motion to move a pumice stone. It features a water spray and an internal vacuum.
