I send this last photo in before the final lescant set is officially due. I
only needed one more photo to go, and it concerned the subject of time. All
of yesterday I couldn't think of anything creative, and today I am still at
a loss for creative ideas.
So I will end it with this final submission that suits the theme just right.
Procrastination, although not exclusively something attributed to and done
by college students, seems to be a rather common practice. This photo was
taken 40 minutes before the last set is officially due and I am writing
this description with 20 minutes left to go. It may seem like I am running
out of time but this is all going according to plan.
Sometimes the best ideas arrive when they are least expected.
More of the morning before the test. I think this is more apt than I meant it to be.
I only got through this chapter... we haven't covered anything after the Russian Revolution yet. Fun times.
the first is what my hair is basically at right now since fading from bright yellow. it's feeling very healthy and I don't want to process it too much more but I gotta do something.
the last is my dream hair with leopard extensions - black and blonde and brown and huge. I still aspire to look like Jan Kuehnemund, it's true.
I also really like the idea of turquoise with darker turquoise roots.
whatdya think?
I've just found time to build the "cover project" from an electronics magazine that I bought 15 years ago.
The We're Here group visited Obstacles.
This is the biggest obstacle to reading, working, washing up, talking to one another, going out, getting to bed on time, and just about anything else you care to mention. This is where it gets into our house.
I've had the frame since before I left Atlanta (summer of 1999) - my sister gave me a SQUARE picture of her crew this year - and I put it in! Yay!
This is my entry for the September BRC.
The rules for the PATTERN CHALLENGE are:
1) You must make an outfit that incorporates the basic elements of the pattern provided:
**** princess seam bodice
**** inset sleeves
**** do not use the color black
I was inspired by vintage lace and fabrics. I wanted a gunne sax style dress. I think it's pretty close. It has a removable ruffled collar so you may appreciate the princess seams on the bodice when removed.
Please excuse my photos. Since I was in a rush to go to work, I rushed the photo session. They came out a bit bad... like right here, her body is slightly to the right and her face is straight looking at me. :)
I had many designs in mind but this is what I came up in the last minute... I didn't have time to take photos of the many drawings that I made, or photos outside with plenty of sunshine like I usually love to do.... but anyways... here it is. Better late than never! =^____^=
Procrastinating from doing housework by curling my hair, and trying to encourage myself with a nice "getting things done" kerchief.
This led to this.
While packing for school I found this beaded peruvian sun necklace that I own. I have no top to wear it with so I decided that it makes a very stunning headdress to wear while contemplating the most effective way to fit all that I need to bring with me in one suitcase.
some thing i started a long time ago, and couldn't figure out how too finish it right. you can kinda tell it's older and It's still not great, but it's kinda funny to see.

Because I'm procrastinating on this thing I'm supposed to be writing (not the statement of purpose, this other thing), I decided to give post-processing this image a shot. If you're interested, this is what I did:
1. Fiddled with levels and curves. Those are technical terms.
2. Decided on a crop.
3. Created a duplicate of the background layer, changed blending to overlay.
4. Created a duplicate of the overlay layer, changed blending to soft light.
5. Created a duplicate of the soft light layer, desaturated it. (I don't normally do so much with duplicate layers, but I was really procrastinating. Still am, actually. But I like what this does to the colors.)
6. Created a new layer. Selected the color from one of the bricks in the background, and used the paint bucket to fill the layer in. Set blending to soft light. Whee, textures!
7. Created a duplicate of this layer, fiddled with curves.
8. Created another duplicate of the original brown-ish soft light layer, desaturated it.
9. Created a new layer, put a white radial gradient over the faces, changed blending to soft light. Usually if I do this I'll change the opacity but I left it at 100% here because I'm just wild and crazy.
10. Added a little vignetting around the bottom edges.
11. The end.
There is a mountain of mail on the dining room table that needs sorting. I feel like I'm paying bills, like, every month! Can't seem to commit words to paper until a next day impending deadline. I delude myself into thinking that I work best under pressure--Can I squeeze 1500 words out before tomorrow? Good words? All these personal projects to do, all these languages to learn, and it is already April. Need to file taxes next week--this year, I can wait until the 17th to start panicking.
