The production process.

Inside Makadare, one of the largest markets/slums in Nairobi. People are working on the production of shoes from old tires and other rubber recycled objects. This is where products are made, where the work is done and, normally, people are not allowed to enter here. This place is like a huge labyrinth of tiny shops and small businesses crammed together.

This year in our garden, we grew a patch of sugar beets.

The process for extracting the sugar is a long one, at least the first time you try it.

The directions I found were technical, and would be best performed with some machinery designed for the purpose, and of course Jean found some better instruction geared toward the home process.

made with processing.org & hemesh & hemesh2embree v1.1 an exporter from Hemesh to the format expected by the open source renderer by Intel called Embree

Decided I wanted more control over the resulting forms. To do this, I had to tone down the movement possibilities for each of the particles so there would be a greater chance the particles would spread out evenly over the surfaces of the gravity spheres. End result... hairy spheres!!! Heh, I said 'hairy spheres'. Check the hi-res versions to see the detail.

This is the process of unloading coke into stockpiles. The coke is unloaded into bins on the dock. Then front end loaders transfer the coke into dump trucks. The trucks then dump into the stockpile where it will be covered. 10/12/13

Homage to a print that Jared Tarbell sent me a while ago. Thanks for the inspiration JT (though yours is much more elegant... nice trick with the black orb with multiple specular highlights... sublime!). Rendered out at 5000x5000. Check the fullsize to see the detail.

It is inspired by my own photography of Epiphyllum.

Muse & Inspiration are as ONE, to me.

It has no human form, no figure to it.. It is an abstract state of mind, as I personally sEE it.

Inspiration is a strong urge to express and create in certain moment..

It can be immediate, or after a while ( even years).

Muse or inspiration is the POWER of enthusiasm, or the need to bring out of myself, what I observe, , sense, feels... With my all senses.

Timing of creation, can be at the exact precise moment, as I felt the "LIGHT" of inspiration, or sometime after.

My muse to create is not depend in the other, and therefore my ability to create or being creative, is depending upon myself totally.

Reflecting my life ( and not for the first time) at different times, finding no connection usually between love to one and creating.

Some of my significant work during my life was done without specific "love" figure as the muse.

Perhaps muse to me is the UNIVERSAL LOVE, That reside inside me and wackes up any minute, I sense it.

Muse, to me is LIFE.

AND, LIFE is the endless possibilities of inspiration, that I feel everyday of my life.

From a helpful little letter drawing app in Processing, to a text file, to oF where it gets rendered all nice and just a little wobbly :)

Created in Adobe Illustrator and colored in Processing. I used the features of the newest version of Processing to randomly color the image...the SVG was placed in memory and its XML colors were changed every frame. With the SVG in memory, the framerates are pretty high for this sort of manipulation.

I'm looking forward to seeing what people can do with SVGs in Processing.
