This is No. 100 - it will mark the end of Autumn/Winter of this series. If you would like to know more about the "whys" of this extensive photo essay, I've explained why in No. 50. No. 100 also marks the first time I have kept to a theme and a subject-matter so diligently. But Life is not static, and neither am I. So from No. 101 onwards will mark subtle changes in the title ... Plus it is Spring/Summer now. As most of us know, the close examination of a subject-matter means that your own personal style, vision etc evolves, grows ... Simply because we ourselves are not static. I don't normally care to explain myself or my work, whether it's street or my art photography - however, sometimes artistic statements are necessary especially when there is a clear purpose. I love the city I live in, and I think as a one-time outsider, looking in from out and from within, the people of Adelaide, South Australia are special and yet the same everywhere else. We still take the time to smile at a stranger, or exchange glances. The are lots of special things about this "festival state" as well - but my purpose is not tourism. We are taught to value the subtleties and details of Life - that's what makes each day different and takes us away from the "same old shit, different day" gripe. My purpose is to capture and freeze moments or people otherwise not afforded a second glance or given the time of day by people rushing around or simply being too preoccupied with "me, myself and I, my social media, my likes and my selfies". For those who have taken the time to follow this series on other platforms, I humbly thank you. The series will continue after I indulge in some architectural abstracts.
