Is anyone else having this problem?? EVERY time I get up to do something, THIS is what I find when I get back. Sheesh!! How am I supposed to work like this??

We've got pigeons nesting in the soffit box directly outside our bedroom window. It's not much of a problem apart from the scritching and scratching at night. Anyway I called a guy and they're going to try and come and take a look over the next couple of days. He mentioned removing the birds, blocking the opening, etc. I don't actually want to know what's involved.
Ok, so as I'm talking to this guy on the phone, I'm standing outside the front explaining what I see, and there in the little alleyway at the side of our house is this baby pigeon... just standing there! Ok, what?! It must have fallen out of the soffit box and is now hanging out in our side entrance.
A friend suggested that we're responsible for it now, and we should take it in and raise it by hand. Um, a minute ago we were on the phone to a pigeon fixer... I'm not sure it's in my constitution to raise a pigeon as my own. I say let nature take its course.
Update: we've provided a small box as refuge for the chick in the alleyway... we shall see whether it's in our bed by tonight.
"The incinerator, built in 1943 to burn garbage collected in the city, has been a problem almost since its construction. It hasn't been used in more than half a century because it was too expensive to maintain and operate.
The original single-stack incinerator quickly proved inadequate to serve the city, even though the contractor claimed it would have the capacity to burn the trash of 100,000 residents.
In 1949, voters agreed by a slim margin to spend $150,000 to add a second furnace, expanding the capacity of incinerator. But in 1955, the incinerator closed because it was too expensive to operate and in need of extensive repairs.
The construction tab for the incinerator was not paid off until 1968 — 13 years after it closed.
The property was later used to store 15 tons of the carcinogenic insecticide DDT, as a dumping ground for junked cars and as a training facility for the Galveston Fire Department.
Galveston has so far allocated about $5.4 million for the facility's removal, the construction of a concrete cap to contain contaminated soil and to treat offsite properties possibly affected by the incinerator's operation, Fortin said.
The funding comes from Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery money awarded after Hurricane Ike in 2008. The money was earmarked for projects to remove blight, according to the city.
"Because of the nature of the work involved, the project will be advertised as a request for proposals so that the methodology proposed for the demolition of the structure and remediation of the contaminants can be evaluated in determining which contractor is best qualified for performing the work," Fortin said.
Nearly three years ago, the city started the process of completing an environmental assessment to demolish the incinerator.
The money comes from $212 million the city received in disaster recovery funds to repair infrastructure, including street, drainage and water and sewer projects."

Gente, eu tive um sério problema em fotografar esse esmalte, primeiro porque com flash fica da cor do Rosa Antigo da Colorama, no claro fica roxo e no escuro fica marrom! Comolidar?
Mas tentei e acho que dá pra ver que ele é uma nuance de roxo com o fundo marrom.
Quem entende mais que eu, me desculpe se eu viajei! haha

I know A (it's actually 0,0) I also know B, C, and theta. C is clamped between A and B.
I need to know at what distance (x) along the line at y=C would a point make a triangle with the angle theta and the opposite side AB.
Should have paid more attention in school.
UPDATE: So @brucehoult found a good solution. His Summary:
The trick here is that, no matter what theta is, as you vary C from 0 to B the solution point lies on a cicle. When theta is 90 degrees, the center of the circle lies on the line between A and B, but for other values of theta it doesn't, so you need to find it.

This is a problem I never saw in the text books. The solution means that the camera in Chopper 2 can automatically zoom in and out (translate in and out really) when the playing area becomes shorter or taller, but still display exactly the area where everything is happening. Looks great.

My cousin asked me to take some senior portraits, I had no problem with it, but we needed a location and since she lived 3 hours from my home, we decided on a town halfway in between the two--Hutchinson, MN. I've driven thru many times but never shot in town before, so I had some ideas, but mostly we just wandered downtown in the alleys. It turned out to be a fantastic location and one of the most fun shoots I've done in awhile.
The portrait is taken in a doorway, with all natural light. The walls had this beautiful cracked paint that went perfect with her outfit.

Here are some of the problems I have noticed in our National parks.
1.Lack of clean restrooms. (we hiked 8 miles, and there wasn't a restroom to be found)
2.Unsafe conditions (rocks and debris on trails)
3.Bears (completely loose in the woods)
4.Not enough cement walkways
5.Trees that drop large pinecones
6.Animals allowed to run willy-nilly thru the forest, and no one seems to mind
7.Lots of crepitations in the night
8.Way to much dirt
9. Way to much nature
10.Could you at least put up some cell towers, free wi-fi, and possibly a starbucks or two?
