Fortunately, the country has witnessed a positive sea change in recognizing the importance of mental health and self-care in recent years, but significant work still remains to create a system that recognizes the nuances and needs of those with mental illness.
Schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disease, and post-traumatic stress disorder are just some of the many conditions affecting the 1 in 20 Americans experiencing serious mental illness today. The generalization of these disorders extends beyond everyday vernacular as one-size-fits-all policies, drugs and treatments continue to fail patients. Even when services are available, barriers like cost, cultural bias, and inconvenience often prevent people from accessing the care they need.

This funding was authorized by the biennium bipartisan budget which included a portion of the Republican “Prioritize Progress” policy to authorize this investment. The Government of Azerbaijan and United Nations launched the formulation of the joint strategic partnership framework for the next five years.
The Ministry of Economy and Industry hosted the launch of the joint consultation process, which brought together senior government officials, development partners, representatives from the private sector and civil society to identify the broad priority areas for the cooperation between the UN system and the Government. The prospective collaboration framework will be aligned with the national priorities that are articulated in ‘Azerbaijan: Vision 2020’ development concept, which builds on the country’s latest socio-economic achievements and provides a framework for its transition from a traditional economy to a knowledge-based, competitive and diversified economy.
The new strategy will support the agreed international goals and Post-2015 Development Agenda, a new framework for sustainable development, reaffirming the mutual commitment of the Government of Azerbaijan and United Nations to further deepen partnership and continue working in a concerted and effective manner. It will constitute a robust mechanism to foster coherence, relevance, effectiveness and efficiency within the UN system, and will give a significant attention to achieving results, with a focus on strengthening national Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) capacity and deepening the integration of M&E into national development planning process.

Hartford, CT. Senate Republican Leader Len Fasano (R-North Haven) talked with the press today regarding a Department of Transportation internal memo that contains an alarming assessment of Gov. Ned Lamont’s plans concerning transportation funding. The memo, which was obtained by the Senate Republican Office after repeated requests, addresses the impact of Gov. Lamont eliminating $250 million in transportation investments. This funding was authorized by the biennium bipartisan budget which included a portion of the Republican “Prioritize Progress” policy to authorize this investment. The memo concludes that eliminating this funding will severely constrict needed infrastructure investments across the state and allow roads and bridges to deteriorate. March 28, 2019. In a country where time is precious, many Ghanaians wash and set their hair but can't spare the time to sit under a hairdryer. Instead, they turn to the reliable Ghanaian sun. While going about their busy workdays, they let the sun naturally dry their hair, harnessing nature's power to save time and money.
This practice is a testament to their resourcefulness, showing that self-care can be integrated into even the busiest of lives. It's a reminder that self-care doesn't always require elaborate routines; sometimes, it's as simple as making the most of what's readily available.
So, when you see a Ghanaian worker with their hair drying in the sun, appreciate the ingenuity behind this practical form of self-care.

The combined impacts of COVID-19 and net-zero commitments have resulted in an unprecedented disruption of the $11.6 trillion global infrastructure industry. Meeting net-zero targets will require the industry to transform project development and delivery to deliver a global portfolio of projects at an unprecedented scale and pace. What are the pivotal actions we need to take now to enable sustainable infrastructure for the decades to come?

In this interactive session, Detlev and Tip will briefly frame the topic with a few slides to set the context. This will be followed by them asking the question to the audience, “What are the pivotal actions we need to take now to enable sustainable infrastructure for the decades to come?” The audience will be requested to discuss the question for ~7 minutes in their pods, submitting their ideas through the GII app to form a Word Cloud on the screen.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services Mike Ellis announced, in Edmonton on March 25, 2026, new action to strengthen supervision of repeat offenders and protect Albertans from dangerous criminals.
The electronic monitoring program is expanding to strengthen supervision of repeat offenders and give victims real-time alerts when their safety may be at risk.
Budget 2026 invests $4.1 million over three years to activate new victim notification capabilities and expand the program across the province. Participating victims will receive immediate alerts if an offender breaches a court-ordered boundary, enters a restricted area or comes near their location. This expansion puts victims first and strengthens enforcement of court-ordered conditions.
The program provides 24-7 round-the-clock supervision of offenders subject to court-ordered conditions. Offenders are required to wear a GPS tracking device monitored by Alberta Correctional Services. The program enforces court-ordered inclusion and exclusion zones, helping keep offenders away from victims’ homes, workplaces and other protected locations.

Chris Ann Hobson teaches sixth grade at West Junior High School. She currently teaches Reading and Language Arts and has been in Fayette County Public Schools for five years. Mrs. Hobson holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (BS) from the University of Memphis, a Masters of Education (MED) from Strayer University, an ED.S in Accountability and Instructional Leadership from Trevecca of Nazarene University, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership (Ed.D) from Trevecca of Nazarene University.
Mrs. Hobson states, “I am a child of God first. Carrano "Tony" Hobson, my husband of 28 years, has been my rock and staunch supporter throughout my educational path. Brandon, LaMarcus (Raven), and Antonious are our three cherished boys. We are the proud grandparents of Bryan, LaMarion, and Grayson. I am pleased to attend the House of Faith Ministry in Somerville, Tennessee, where I continue to develop spiritually under the leadership of Bishop C.H. and 1st Lady Annie Wright. I have the support of my mother, my in-laws, and the rest of my family. God has called me, and I have embraced the call with honor. It takes a village to raise a child, and the same village is required to support a teacher. It is an honor to receive this prestigious award and I thank God for it!”
Mrs. Hobson says, “As stated in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," the Lord reveals, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God has ordained me as a teacher. As a teacher, I am in a unique position to influence my students' lives. I strive to interact daily with them, aiding them in the discovery of fresh and significant knowledge and ideas. I believe I have a direct impact on their lives, which is in part why I chose to become an educator.”
Mrs. Hobson enjoys teaching mainly because of her scholars. She enjoys talking with them, learning from them, assisting them in comprehending the course material, and seeing them make the connection between what they are learning and their life. Because students learn in diverse ways, it is not always simple to assist children in seeing that they are capable of learning and in identifying tactics that will help each of them learn based on their own learning styles. However, she enjoys knowing that a student has not only mastered a skill or topic, but also learned how to learn.

Fortunately, the country has witnessed a positive sea change in recognizing the importance of mental health and self-care in recent years, but significant work still remains to create a system that recognizes the nuances and needs of those with mental illness.
Schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disease, and post-traumatic stress disorder are just some of the many conditions affecting the 1 in 20 Americans experiencing serious mental illness today. The generalization of these disorders extends beyond everyday vernacular as one-size-fits-all policies, drugs and treatments continue to fail patients. Even when services are available, barriers like cost, cultural bias, and inconvenience often prevent people from accessing the care they need.
How can we break down the stigma associated with mental illness? How can we build a comprehensive care system to support all individuals affected by it?
