The big recent Busway news was the opening of the extension from Canoga Park to Chatsworth Station on the weekend of June 29-30, 2012. Meanwhile, at the other end of the Busway, restoration work continued on the old Lankershim/North Hollywood Southern Pacific/Pacific Electric depot building. As of July 12, original Southern Pacific colors have been applied to the building. Still no word on what the refurbished building will be used for.
After a morning of frenetic fishing in the flood waters, this group of pelicans retired to a more calm gravel bar to primp and preen.

Sisters getting ready for a model shoot. They were modeling for the Howard the Duck movie poster. Shot into the mirror.
The doll above is a Kelly (or a friend of Kelly), though I can't recall which one. She's wearing the fashion she came in.

I can't remember where I took this. But I have to admit that seeing this after I developed the roll was a pleasant surprise.
OH!!!
Now I remember... this was in a ladies' restroom somewhere. Although I can't remember if she realised I was taking her photo.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my best friend... primping herself in the ladies.
Ah, the perils of being acquainted with me...

"It takes a lot of pawing and primping to get it all going the right direction again. Sometimes even that does not work and you have to walk up and down the length of the sofa rubbing your face in it before you get it all back in place. Until you get it right again it tickles your nose and makes you sneeze!" So says Sophie.
We have had a short, spring-like break in the winter weather and Sophie took advantage of it to stick her head out the car window for the first time in months. I don't blame her, I took my first bike ride of the year for the same reason. The forecast for Friday is up to a foot of snow!!
No primping, trying not to giggle, taken for another Flickr game for warts 'n all self portraits ... But I've been TAGGED by cliffbriggie so I thought this would suit - Please do not adjust your monitors, this is real !
16 things about v_s that are not obvious from this photograph LoL!
1. Born in Hampstead NW London some time after the last Ice Age
2. Came to Oxford when I was 19 to read English, French and Law at Oxford's other university, now called Oxford-Brooks. Never went back because London is just too stressful; although I miss the museums and art galleries.
3. Before college did a gap year working in a public library that opened it's Reference Room to down-and-outs, had a reader that wrote bad pornography and pinched my bottom, and another who thought he could fly ... This place so fascinated me I nearly skipped college altogether for the fun of working there!
4. I tend to believe I'm indestructable, having nearly died from drinking contaminated orange juice and suffering pneumonia as a small child, experiencing a knife attack and a camel attack - Well you would, wouldn't you ?!
5. I have a great fear of blindness as a result of nearly losing my eyesight.
6. My brother is a professional photographer and I had an Uncle who painted in water colour and oil.
7. I have a very mixed ancestry - Spanish and Scottish blood, and a Lady Dowager on my Mother's side; Botany Bay criminals on my Fathers!
8. I hope there really is such a thing as re-incarnation or an after life ...
9. I worry ... Hence the Kling On forhead ! But I also laugh a lot and have a fairly random sense of humour :)
10. I discovered I suffer from vertigo after I'd climbed to the top of St Paul's Cathedral and froze, totally unable to move. Very embarassing !
11. One of my most embarrassing moments was mistaking another man for Andy in the street, rushing up to him and throwing my arms around his neck - Ooops!
12. I can't cook - Though I made my living making ice cream for G & D's in Oxford for a while. One American customer had me summoned from my underground workroom to tell me I made "Darn fine blueberry ice cream" I was dead chuffed, I thoight she was going to complain she'd found a hair in it!
13. I'm a bit accident prone - Whilst working at G & D's the washroom ceiling fell down on my head and nearly knocked me unconscious. G's reaction was "Thank God it wasn't a customer, they'd have sued our asses off!"
14. I used to work in UNIX technical support for the Oxford English Dictionary of which I was very proud. I was transferred to Windows technical support five years ago, which I don't enjoy, as I no longer feel I'm part of a creative process, just another human resource.
15. I have a philosophy for when I am out of work - If things get desparate get a job in catering! At least you'll get one meal a day !
16. Mankind first walked on the moon on the eve of my 15th birthday - Awesome !

Something is terribly wrong with the weather.
In 1972 the doomed magazine "Primper's Weekly" was launched. Over-endowed with a budget from playboy and dilettante millionaire Hastrubble Wallkin, we see here a charming photoshoot of his companion of the time, Simca Poorcar.
When Negs Bigdup, the developer, was asked about the intriguing sky effect, he laughed, and said it was to do with a very dark room and a mistake with a bag of "sugar".
"Primper's" ran for just seven weeks, and Simca was on the front cover of all the editions. The now rare "posing as a scarecrow in a turnip field" cover is highly sought after, as Simca herself objected to the poor dress sense in that shoot that was imposed upon her by her photographer and advisor, Koor Lukatem.
Simca ordered all the remaining copies to be used to set fire to Hastrubble's bed; rumour has it that one copy was liberated by Herhipsan Isaflashin, Hastrubble's new maid, and is now somewhere in a collector's basement.
Hes got to paint pretties on his toenails too. DUH?!?! LOL.. Gavin painting his toe nails naky after just getting out of the pool. Oh my heart...
Today is Day Spa Day, and after spending the afternoon being primped and pampered they were clearly too exhausted to pose.
So I took a few happy-snappy iPhone shots and played around in Lightroom for a few minutes then called it a night.
This is Zachary's "Frog" position, lying flat on his tummy with this legs and tail splayed out behind.
It looks rather uncomfortable to me... for a boy... with a "full toolbox" (groomer's euphemism)... but it seems to work for him.

Here's what it looked like when I first got started.
The table is by Bella! Productions and is meant for 16" size dolls, but I think it works well in 1:6 scale.

My first Petite! :D
Truth to be told, I was never a fan of petites until I got one for my niece. I had a hard time letting her go! (I am the worst aunt ever)
So I went and got one for myself too. A blue haired one because I am a sucker for blue hair..
She is still unnamed. I've been calling her "Azulita", after my Asian Butterfly Encore Azul.. but I want her to have her own name. I keep thinking Mora or Arandano..
She's so cute..!
Part of the pre-prom primping included a manicure and pedicure. Zoe got her toes done and had little flowers painted on the toenails.
Rainy day, spent some time working on split toning...pretty handy tool.
I watched her (guessing from the lack of facial scars) stalking the water's edge when she disappeared from sight. Figuring she was working her way along another trail, I got up from my hiding spot and walked to where I last saw her. As I reached for my binoculars in hopes of spotting her again, she was laying in this tall grass some 20' in front of me. She was completely unconcerned...well maybe not, she did a fair bit of primping.
I think that this 20s-era photo was taken in Shreveport, LA. The ladies are identified as:
Orr Lynn
Mary Martin
Audrey
Marie
Mell
Henrella
Bathed, Dried, Fluffed, Banded and Primped, these littermate/twinnies are posing under the Christmas tree. Do they look a little spoiled? Well, they SHOULD!
