Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente hosted a dinner in honour of Mrs. Kristalina Georgieva, CEO of the World Bank at Kigali Convention Center on 10th November 2018.

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice President of the European Commission for the Euro and Social Dialogue today.

Parties discussed the positive trend of relations developing between the European Union and Georgia. Enforcement of visa liberalization has been noted as a milestone achievement of Georgia. Also, significant progress has been stressed in the country, thus manifesting in the Association Agreement (AA) and implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA).

Prime Minister of Georgia has expressed gratitude to the Vice President of the European Commission for the allocation of 40 million Euros to Georgia and spoke about the current and planned reforms in the country to significantly increase the role of small and medium enterprises (SME) in the economy of the country.

Currently witnessed favorable investment climate of Georgia has been stressed and noted that it will be further advanced through a reform planned in the judiciary system, which implies the establishment of Commercial Chambers within the court system. Georgian party has expressed its readiness to share the successful experience of the EU and western partners within this process.

Discussions were also related to the fundamental reforms planned in the education system, which are believed to facilitate the sustainable economic development of the country and attraction of more foreign direct investments (FDI), in the opinion of the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Meeting also focused on the new Government initiative - Step Towards a Better Future, which has been positively viewed by the European partners.

Vice President of the European Commission reiterated the solid support of the EU towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.

Mamuka Bakhtadze expressed gratitude to Valdis Dombrovskis and invited him to Georgia.
