I caught up with Caren, a friend from high school for lunch. She made sushi! It was delicious. While I was there, I noticed a small Optimus Prime toy on her kitchen bench. One of her three sons had left it there. I started to take photos of it with my 50mm f/1.4 lens much to her amusement.
Optimus Prime is my favourite Transformer and while he looked awesome standing on the kitchen bench, I felt there needed additional props. I added sushi and a dollop of wasabi on a plate at the table for lunch. It was fortunate that none of Caren’s boys were at the table watching me construct the scene as I was clearly playing with my food. Caren’s husband Ray joined us for lunch and I learned that he hadn’t seen Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen yet. He is planning to do so soon which will be awesome as not talking about the movie was a struggle.
After lunch I was able to compare notes with Caren about teaching and being a student of an education unit. I was able to voice some frustrations that I had about the teaching process. It was a relief and it solidified my understanding of a particular subject area that was causing me unnecessary angst. Knowing that a teacher and a friend shares the same concerns that I have is a confidence boost.
Unlike the majority of the students in the unit that I’m enrolled in, I don’t have any interaction with teachers and can be difficult to determine whether my views are in line with the education sector. It’s not that I’m looking for vindication or acceptance. I want to ensure that I haven’t missed the point of it all.

The Bucket List:
A list of things to do before you die; comes from the term "kicked the bucket"
I have decided to start a bucket list. I know everyone has some things they want to do before they die, or humour themselves and pretend they would like to do, but will never be able to. I thought about this whilst I was at the shore this weekend and decided that rather than just state these things, I would add a picture and say why I want to do the item. These will be in no particular order, and I just started a list on 43Things.com which I'll add to as I write them up on Flickr.
I took this shot from the top of the lighthouse at Long Beach Island, New Jersey. I climbed all 217 Steps to the top. It's post season at the shore now, so there weren't many people about and it was great to be able to sit on the beach with no problem of overcrowding. I had a relaxing weekend, the weather managed to stay nice on Saturday, but Sunday was not so good and just after I came down from the lighthouse, the heaven's totally opened and I got back home with see-through shorts !

Panel II: La Otredad en el coleccionismo
Ponentes: Jaime Ceron (Curador, Colombia), Mason Klein (Curador, EEUU), Ramiro Martínez Estrada (Curador, México).

Vietnam is willing to share experience and cooperate with countries in agricultural and rural development, especially through the South-South cooperation programme funded and coordinated by FAO.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made this affirmation while attending the 31st conference of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) for the Asia-Pacific, which opened in Hanoi on Mar. 15.

This is a stereo picture (stereogram / stereograph).
This has been made with Callipygian 3D using the Anaglyph method (View with red/blue glasses).
I made a simple pair of glasses with a red and blue/cyan window. The plastic was glued to some cardboard. It was very effective.
Taken with a Caon EOS 5d, 24-70 mm lens. Manually shifting camera from right to left eye.

This is just a plain white primer. The finish colors will be Benjamin Moore starry night blue for the accent wall (on the far left in this shot), edgecomb gray for the remaining walls (and the sloped part of the ceiling), and simply white for the flat part of the ceiling and the trim.

it's been an unspired week for me, back to uni etc. so here we see primary colours, something of a fallback for me when things get drab.
Points to people who know what it is: Bonus points to where, and when, it came from.
The interesting thing abou this photo is the DoF. Because I was using the PB-6 bellows, I had some swing, and shift, so I could have the object off-axis to the film plane, and keep all of in focus, because I could exploit Schleimpflug.
