Unfortunately, the original head is glued to the car hood.
I found this out after breaking the prototype figure.
To solve this I used a blade to carefully cut through the plastic and glue to release the head. Slowly but surely, I'd cut through until it popped free so it could be removed from a hinge.

The Forbidden City is a huge complex. So far I've been walking through the area where the riff-raff of old Beijing were allowed. The actual Forbidden bits are just beyond the Meridian Gate.
