Minister Shirley Bond presents the Crime Prevention & Community Safety Award to Valerie Overgaard and Alison Rowley, Vancouver School Board - Youth Empowerment and Safe (YES). The award recognizes exemplary leadership through developing innovative projects, key activities or initiatives to promote safe communities.
Starting in 2007, the Youth Empowered and Safe (YES) project has brought together community and school resources to address key risk factors for youth, identify gaps in youth services and develop strategies in response. The YES project helped to establish a Community Assessment and Action Network with police, the City of Vancouver, community agencies and the school district. YES also collaborated with Vancouver School Board Multicultural Liaison Workers and Settlement Workers in developing and translating parent presentations and the booklet, Steering Kids Away From Gangs: What Parents Need to Know, in six languages.

Steps or ladders used to get in and out of the house. The door has been built above street level.
The steps would be raised above the door with a simple pulley mechanism - ensuring poor folk would find the solution affordable.

This is the number to the suicide prevention line. The toll-free call goes to the nearest crisis center in their national network. These centers provide 24-hour crisis counseling and mental health referrals.
Many people suffering from bullying sometimes are too embarrassed to tell others about it. Many begin to face such strong emotions battles alone that they choose to end their life instead. This phone line allows people to anonymously speak to specialists who will get people the help they need.
At the Camp Casey Elementary School library April 5, Col. John M. Scott, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I, joined students in an observance of this year's National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the visit Scott signed a commander's proclamation reaffirming the garrison's commitment to keeping Army children safe and healthy. The Snail Extinction Prevention Program (SEPP) is a part of the Hawaiian Invertebrate Program and is charged with protecting and recovering Hawaiʻi’s endemic snail species. The Hawaiian Islands were once home to over 750 species of terrestrial snails - one of the most stunning examples of species radiations in the world.
I walked over the morning after the Toronto Trans march. Wandering around the park I found this abandoned sign. It's message, is a request for a small courtesy that will validate a person existence. Save a life it is so easy and costs you nothing.
There are contradictions that still amaze me ... :)

After making a routine check, I made the decision to do a small change in my style of life. And one of those changes; here is a complete kit of dietary supplements for the cardiovascular system among others supplements for my health in general. Just a small steps but they will definitely worth it.
