I used to think it was hard to get pictures of Emma when she was little b/c my hands were always occupied with her and how it would be easier once she was on her own. How wrong I was! It's harder now b/c she is never still!! Usually she is just a blur in my viewfinder!!!

Facts About Peonies
The Roman legions first brought Peonies to England in about year 1200.
Peonies were described in botanical books as early as 1636.
Peonies (along with the Plum Blossoms) are the traditional floral symbols of China, where it is called Mudan. In 1903, the Qing Dynasty declared the Peony as the national flower of China.
If grown in the sun, leaves of Peonies turn from green to burgundy in just one week. Planted among fall-flowering perennials such as Echinacea purpurea (the purple cone flower) and Eupatorum purpureum, Peonies come into their own color once again!
The Japanese name for the Peony, Ebisugusuri means medicine from China. In traditional folk medicine, Peony root was used as a treatment for menstrual cramps, asthma and convulsions.
Peonies' exquisite, large blossoms, often fragrant, make excellent cut flowers and the foliage provides a background for annuals or other perennials.

Sorry for the 80s movie reference, but I think it's the perfect title for these two shots of my wife.
isn't she pretty in pink???? Never a fan of the colour, I find myself drawn to it in regards to Eem-er. I want her to feel pretty, to feel loved, to be a girl-y dog. Pink harnesses, pink leashes and yes, even a pink rhinestone necklace for special occasions(should be another 52 weeks photo), I enjoy her in pink. All of it is my need to make her feel special...like she has any clue what it is all about, right? I know, I know....it's my need....she hates the harnesses, the collar, the necklace...all of it, no matter what the colour....what she loves is walks...rabbits...squirrels...her kitten...her spots on the couch and the bed....her spot in front of the pellet stove....U-Dog, and the nights I serve her liver. But really? Isn't she pretty in pink?
A) I wish I was back in Damascus with Mt. Hood in my image
B) I'm very grateful I have my dogs and they are happy
