"Baby Booties" cake, with handmade sugar booties.
First time out with the garrett frill cutter as well - I quite like the result! This was on the deepest setting, two layers.
This was a mini cake (4'') that I made just for fun, but I think that it'd look nice as a topper for a cupcake tower at a christening or baby shower, or even a first birthday.
Coffee and walnut cake with coffee-walnut buttercream.

On the first Thursday of every month the statues of children
come alive for an hour and cavort with their human playmates!

Pretty in pink at Khan al-Khalili.
Khan Al Khalili is one of the biggest bazaars in the Middle East. Locally it is called a souk sharkiat, which means a market road but it is more than a market. It is a town of markets and shops.
Situated in the East of the city, in Islamic Cairo, craftsmen, businessmen and wholesalers crowd together along its narrow alleys. You get easily lost in Khan Al Khalili if you don't pay attention to landmarks!
Pupukea, which means “white shell” in the Hawaiian language, is a long and narrow stretch of beach with a rocky shoreline. On each end of Pupukea Beach Park (view panorama) lie two small pocket beaches within the rocks – Shark's Cove and Three Tables. Both are very popular and fantastic dive and snorkeling sites, but mainly in the summer months when the surf is calm. Over at my folks' house this morning I got to see my high school age niece trying on her prom dress, which she scored at Via's Vintage Wear. It's very 50s.

A South Florida beauty, there are two parts to the chemistry that makes a flamingo pink; the carotenoids in the food that provide the pigments, and there are the specific enzymes produced by the species which utilize those pigments, providing its brilliant pink color.

I cannot believe it will be February in 14 minutes.
I cannot believe my birthday is almost here again.
I can't believe how big my eyes look in this photograph.
