Some of the aforementioned pretty pretty west coast scenery.
This shot was taken on the same trip, but from another vessel... out the window of the car deck. I'd been sitting in the truck, reading. In fact, I was reading The Art of Photography... and dreaming about great shots of the future. Then I looked up and saw THIS out the window.
Yeah, it's cliche but... what the hell. Somehow it looked a lot better to me framed by the white wall of the ferry.
No one hassled me on this trip. The worst thing I had to contend with photographically was the inescapable shaking vibration of the engines. Makes it tough to do even this mini- type of long exposure (1/5 second, I think...).
My backyard has lots of these Moccasin flowers (Lady Slippers). I decided to try out an old lens (the 70-300 cheapy lens I got with my camera) and I like how it worked here more than the shots I took with my macro lens or the 50mm...so I guess I need to keep carrying it around!! Wish it has image stabilization.
Chloe on the stairs. This cat is a whole lotta fun with a great personality. She meows a lot. It’s almost like she’s having a conversation with you.

The color in the sky was caused by the Belt of Venus. The Belt of Venus is caused by the backscatter of reddened sunlight by fine particulates high in the atmosphere. This scattering effect, known as Rayleigh scattering, is responsible for the pinkish hue. The phenomenon is similar to alpenglow, which creates a reddish glow just over the horizon. However, the Belt of Venus occurs higher in the atmosphere and lasts for a longer period.
It is, basically, the Earth's atmospheric sunset color and its shadow being broadcast across the upper atmosphere in the opposite direction of the setting sun. It's a condition that will allow you to get some colorful skies when there's no significant sunset otherwise.
Pretty in Pink!
This was taken on friday about 10mins before the sky turned to burnt orange color. #iloveSydney

and my new favourite skirt. This one is from my girlfriend. It is a perfect fit and feels very smart (pockets too!) Is the hair looking any longer? This is part of a wee shoot I did today, so a few more new looks on their way. All from my girlfriend's wardrobe clear-out. Most will be on its way to eBay soon.
...are growing all over my yard. It is a feast for my camera! I just had to post some.

Probably my last bee images of the year but this aster was still buzzing with bees stocking up for the winter!
