Imagine yourself in Pompeii at the time of the eruption, there was no escape from the spewing ash and lava, you died where you stood or slept. The person in the glass case, man or woman, was holding their arm in front of their face as if to protect themselves, but to no avail.
Pompeii was destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
When Pompeii was excavated plaster was used to fill in the voids in the ash layers that once held human bodies. This allowed one to see the exact position the person was in when he or she died.

I brought the terrarium out to my patio to take these photos. The natural sunlight makes it look much more realistic and I did not have to worry about the background through the glass.

1163s M.O.T Day!!! She Only Failed On The N/S Headlights Aim To Low (Which Is Now Fixed) And The Front King Pins Which Is Currently Being Arranged To Be Sorted Before Having A Retest To Then Pass M.O.T The Tester Was Very Impressed With How Clean The Vehicle Was Underneath Especially After Not Having An M.O.T For Around 5-6 Years And Mechanically She Is Sound. Just The Body Work And A Full Repaint To Sort In Summer This Year Which She Is Booked In For To Match OP81 MX54WMK My Other Preserved Optare Solo Which Is In My Preserved Bus Livery Like 1163 Will Be
Preserved Bus Update: 1163 Is All Dressed Up 👗 And Ready To Go For Her First M.O.T Whilst Being Under My Ownership On Friday. After All The Hard Work We Have Put Into Her I Really Hope She Passes Then It Will Be Onto This Summer Coming Up Major Body Work Including A Back Rebuild On The OFF/S Rear Corner And Alot Of Other Body Work To Plus A Full Repaint Into My Very Own Preserved Bus Livery Which We Also Put OP81 Into.
OP81 Update: She Still Awaits Her New Engine To Be Fitted And The She'll Be Onto M.O.T Prep Then Having A Fresh M.O.T Can't Wait For My 2 Fabulous Solo's To Start Attending Preserved Running Days/Bus Shows And Events From End Of August 2025 Onwards Is The Plan

Can't Wait To Have OP81 M.O.T'd And All The Work Finished On Her That Needs Doing Before M.O.T! Although Works Always Ongoing On OP81 Like Most Preserved Vehicle's As A Project Is Never Quite Finished. She Will Be Having A Fresh M.O.T And All The Current Work Left To Do Which Is Listed Below Finished By Early November.
1. Remove Any Chassis Corrosion And Treat Afterwards (Which The Bus Is Going Away For End Of October)
2. Get A New Side Window Fitted
3. A Service
4. Finish Some Interior Painting Which We Started
5. Finish Some Small Electrical Work
