"The final piece of the Prescot Gateway artwork has been installed at Prescot Railway station."

"The striking piece of public art has been positioned to provide a warm and inspiring welcome to visitors to the town and is part of a wider family of artwork. Three other eye-catching installations were fitted earlier this year on roundabouts leading into and out of the town."

"The piece at the station reflects Prescot’s industrial and craftsmanship past, including tool and watch making, pottery and mining, the well know British Insulate Wire Company/BICC and of course the towns links to Shakespeare through his connection to the Derby family."

Artist was Martin Herron.
