An American alligator swims in the marshes of the Florida Everglades.
Taken from a viewing platform at a scenic overlook along Alligator Alley (I-75) in southern Florida. Someone had mentioned that this one was probably about a four-footer. It may easily be a bit larger than that. As sunset got closer, more gators began to appear in the water.
Please, if you ever see one in the wild, don't feed it. Otherwise, it will become aggressive and lose its fear of humans. If you see it nesting in the wild, don't approach as it may attack out of self-defense.
