The entrance of hyper coaster *Expedition* GeForce.
Expedition GeForce
Expedition GeForce is a steel roller coaster located at Holiday Park in Haßloch, Germany. It is one of the largest roller coasters in Europe and has an 82 degree first drop. The trains travel up to 120 kilometres per hour through a course 1.2 kilometres long with seven periods of weightlessness. At its highest, the ride reaches 53 metres above ground.
Until the opening of Silver Star at Europa-Park, it was the tallest roller coaster operating on the European mainland.
The ride opened on June 18, 2001 to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Holiday Park's operation, costing approximately €10 million. It has a maximum throughput of 1,300 riders per hour, with two 28-seater trains in operation. The track rests on 209 foundations, which are up to 20 metres deep.
It was constructed by Swiss manufacturers Intamin, which markets this type of coaster as Mega Coaster, in collaboration with German engineer Werner Stengel. Unlike many other coasters, the ride does not employ a conventional chain lift but a faster cable lift with a catch car, very similar to the system used for Millennium Force. It is one of the prebuilt rides in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and NoLimits.
From the station, the trains ascend the 57 m lift hill and encounter the first drop, which at 82°, makes a 74° right-hand turn. The ride continues with several large hills, which give a sensation of air-time, especially in the rear of the trains, and a number of overbanked turns, before becoming more twisted as the ride runs through woods and over a lake. Just before entering the brake run, the trains negotiate a series of bunny hops, again giving riders considerable amounts of air-time.

Men of the 119th Landwehr Regiment carry a prebuilt barbed wire obstacle toward the front. I have never heard or seen photographic evidence of such an activity. The sharpened stakes reflect the intended method of installation. I would think artillery fire would disrupt this barrier fairly easily which may be why we see a lot of the metal auger looking posts on the Western Front,

An interesting load, a pre-built turnout, I saw on a Norfolk Southern freight train on March 21, 2018.
After trying to buy the kit for a long while, the chance came up to purchase one prebuilt, decided to changed the caunter scheme to the correct colours and add the correct nearside desert sand skirt used in North Africa.
Caunter Scheme used in repaint - Slate Grey, Silver Grey and Light Stone, however it has been quoted that at one point, the pigmnets used during the war could turn blue after being bleached out by the sun in the desert. However probably not as blue as this. For more information look up 'The Caunter Scheme by Mike Starmer for more details and colour chips.

In 1961, Jim Bede formed the Bede Aircraft Corporation in a successful effort to break into the homebuilt aircraft market. Pilots unable or unwilling to buy a prebuilt aircraft could purchase kits for low prices and build the aircraft themselves. Homebuilts also allowed for a lot of innovation and experimentation. Bede had scored a success with his BD-4 homebuilt, but he had a radical idea for his next design, the BD-5.
When the BD-5 rolled out in 1971, it stunned the homebuilt market. It was more of a fighter than a homebuilt, fly-on-the-weekend aircraft: the pilot sat in a semi-reclined seat (a design later adopted by the F-16) to help mitigate G-forces, the canopy was large and offered superb visbility, and the engine was mounted behind the pilot to further streamline the aircraft. In fact, it was so fast that Bede had to add more flaps to the wings to ensure it would land safely. Though the initial BD-5s would be propeller-driven, Bede announced he was working on a jet-powered design as well. He also offered two wing designs, which added or slightly decreased manueverability, allowing a pilot to "work into" the hot BD-5. By the time of its first flight in September 1971, Bede's order book was already filled with 4300 orders.
Unfortunately for Bede, the BD-5 ran into problems. Testing was not smooth, and revealed several issues with the aircraft. These could be solved, but the biggest issue was the Hirth engine, which was specially designed for the BD-5; Hirth struggled to meet orders and then went bankrupt. By that time, Bede was already delivering BD-5s without engines so at least homebuilders could get started. A new engine supplier was found in Japan, but by the time these engines became available, Bede Aircraft itself was in dire straits. Unable to meet orders and spread too thin attempting to design new aircraft, Bede declared bankruptcy in 1979.
This left several thousand owners with BD-5s without engines. Most simply scrapped their kits, but a good number modified them with different engines. It was found that the BD-5 took a lot longer to build than advertised, and when flown, it needed an experienced pilot--if anything, it was too hot, with a tendency to snap roll without warning and a tendency to enter high-speed stalls. Of the first 30 BD-5s that flew, 18 crashed. This made the BD-5 even less popular.
Shortly before the company went bankrupt, Bede did finish and produce a few examples of the jet-powered version, the BD-5J. Though the J lacked the engine issues of the standard BD-5, it was very difficult to handle. 20 were produced, and about a third have crashed. It did offer superb performance, and gave Bede the honor of entering the Guinness Book of World Records with the smallest jet aircraft ever produced. Of roughly about 300 BD-5s produced, half are known to be still around, though only about 30 are considered flyable.
This BD-5J was built by a collector in Illinois, but was never flown. Instead, it was donated to the Pima Air and Space Museum in 1996, and repainted as James Bond's BD-5J, shown in opening sequence of the movie "Octopussy." (Hence the British Union Jack on the tail!) The BD-5J used in the movie later crashed, so this is not the original.

An LI work crew brings a train of stone hoppers to Fresh Pond Yard for interchange with some ROW materials such as concrete ties, prebuilt trackage, and switches (?).
Rear detail. Buss bar made from 3/8 inch soft copper hose flattened in vise. 1/4 inch might have worked better. Here buss bar is on wrong side, if there is a wrong side to class A breakers. At least it is wrong compared to Blue Seas prebuilt panels, so I shifted to other side of breakers once I discovered error.

This BD-5 is N500BD, the first prototype. Initially, it was flown with a V-tail, but this proved unstable and Bede redesigned it with a more conventional tail. An all-metal fuselage was also adopted instead of fiberglass, which was not as strong. It was still extremely light, weighing in at only 358 pounds. For its first flight, Bede used a snowmobile engine. After the Bede company went bankrupt, N500BD was donated to the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; it was so light that the aircraft was carried onto the museum floor.
Like most people remotely familiar with the Bede designs, my first experience with the BD-5 was the BD-5J used by James Bond in "Octopussy." It was neat to finally see one in person.

Still under construction by yours truely, I can't wait for the grand opening!
I am currently working on 3 sims, so what you see is actually less than 1 third of what the full experience will be.
Most of my friends know how busy I am with these builds and I hope all of you are excited as I am to see these areas open to the general public for use.
The Middle East Sim contains an Art Center, Learning Center (closest building in the picture above) a Club (in the far background in yellow) a game center and in the middle of the sim is a large open green frield. This is how the sim was origionally designed with a field in the middle, and the other ideas existsed also, but I just used my magic to reorganize it.
There is also a cool bridge I made (the black, white and tealish colored bridge in the picture)
The other sim Arabian Village (seen with hut buildings in back left of the picture) is going to be redisgned as a more urban type area. The roads and waterways will all connect to eachother and there should be about 15-20 residence parcels for rent in a prebuilt area.
The third sim is the Taste of Arabia sim.
This sim features the historical Middle East which contains The Great Pyramids, A mosque modeled after the one in Medina in Saudi Arabia, and few hidden areas which bring out the flavour of the historic Middle East. Going into this sim is like a step back in time. This sim is also connected with road ways to the Middle East Sim.
I want everyone to know I really put my heart into these projects. Though the buildings in the Taste of Arabia sim are not meant to be exact replicas of these historic sites. They are simply inspired by these real life locations with a squeeze of Anz Malthus added to the mix.
Especially the Middle East sim (which you can teleport to) I really just let myself run wild and make an area both futuristic, realistic, fuctionable and always of all Classy ;)
There is also going to be a Smaller Night Club built in the Middle East. This is to all you Karaoke Fans out there... and if you have never seen SL Karaoke its quite amazing. You can sync music through your mic using a particular web page that features Karaoke songs and videos. And yeah... basically you just watch people embarass themselves.
I am sure we all know several people in SL that when they are playing, 75% of the time they are intoxicated, or messed up in some other fashion... so watching them sing is amazing and I hope all my friends, and anyone else can come and enjoy this experiance.
I NEED A NEW NAME
The origional karaoke club name was Alphabeat... but thats a band name apparently and I feel guilty using it... Anyone that can supply a cute name to a Karaoke Club featured in a post nodern Middle Eastern cultural area, let me know!

Built by the London and North Western Railway Company in about 1840 as a coal wharf. It has a horseshoe shape (which is best viewed from above), rather appropriately because it was used as stables, the horses being brought from the courtyard via a tunnel. Listed Grade II* in 1976. Currently for sale (details in a pdf).
You can view it from the canal (as here) or from the corner of Sheepcote Street and St. Vincent Street.

In 1961, Jim Bede formed the Bede Aircraft Corporation in a successful effort to break into the homebuilt aircraft market. Pilots unable or unwilling to buy a prebuilt aircraft could purchase kits for low prices and build the aircraft themselves. Homebuilts also allowed for a lot of innovation and experimentation. Bede had scored a success with his BD-4 homebuilt, but he had a radical idea for his next design, the BD-5.
When the BD-5 rolled out in 1971, it stunned the homebuilt market. It was more of a fighter than a homebuilt, fly-on-the-weekend aircraft: the pilot sat in a semi-reclined seat (a design later adopted by the F-16) to help mitigate G-forces, the canopy was large and offered superb visbility, and the engine was mounted behind the pilot to further streamline the aircraft. In fact, it was so fast that Bede had to add more flaps to the wings to ensure it would land safely. Though the initial BD-5s would be propeller-driven, Bede announced he was working on a jet-powered design as well. He also offered two wing designs, which added or slightly decreased manueverability, allowing a pilot to "work into" the hot BD-5. By the time of its first flight in September 1971, Bede's order book was already filled with 4300 orders.
Unfortunately for Bede, the BD-5 ran into problems. Testing was not smooth, and revealed several issues with the aircraft. These could be solved, but the biggest issue was the Hirth engine, which was specially designed for the BD-5; Hirth struggled to meet orders and then went bankrupt. By that time, Bede was already delivering BD-5s without engines so at least homebuilders could get started. A new engine supplier was found in Japan, but by the time these engines became available, Bede Aircraft itself was in dire straits. Unable to meet orders and spread too thin attempting to design new aircraft, Bede declared bankruptcy in 1979.
This left several thousand owners with BD-5s without engines. Most simply scrapped their kits, but a good number modified them with different engines. It was found that the BD-5 took a lot longer to build than advertised, and when flown, it needed an experienced pilot--if anything, it was too hot, with a tendency to snap roll without warning and a tendency to enter high-speed stalls. Of the first 30 BD-5s that flew, 18 crashed. This made the BD-5 even less popular.
Shortly before the company went bankrupt, Bede did finish and produce a few examples of the jet-powered version, the BD-5J. Though the J lacked the engine issues of the standard BD-5, it was also very difficult to handle. 20 were produced, and about a third have crashed. It did offer superb performance, and gave Bede the honor of entering the Guinness Book of World Records with the smallest jet aircraft ever produced. Of roughly about 300 BD-5s produced, half are known to be still around, though only about 30 are considered flyable.
This is a propeller-driven BD-5, rather than the jet-powered BD-5J. N250TH was built by two brothers in Longmont, Colorado in 1973, and flown for awhile on the airshow circuit. It was donated to the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in 2007. Naturally the Blue Angels never flew the BD-5 (that would have been an interesting show), but it does look pretty good in Blues colors.

After suffering through the two year tech support nightmare that defined my experience with Alienware I've finally managed to get a new computer and will be junking the majority of the old machine.
Rather than buying a prebuilt computer I'm going the homebuilt route this time around and managed to save $1000 off what I would have expected from similar vendor-built specs.

Just as with walkthrough 4 about the engine we have prebuilt the carburetors. We usually prepare a lot of carburetor sets at once and then keep them ready for the restorations. We will have a walkthrough about the carburetors in the future though so stay tuned.
