My girl and her dad have been spending a lot of time together practicing. Practicing soccer, practicing kickball and practicing talking about life in general. They don't always get along these two. I think it might have to do with her hormones and his lack of understanding, but they are working on it. I have been watching them lately as they have been practicing and they are learning to know each other better. They are developing a bond and I love watching the two of them grow closer together. I guess it's like everything else. Relationships take practice and hard work, and that's exactly what they've been doing. After all, practice makes perfect!
More of their practice on the blog.http://www.savoringthesimple.com/2011/06/kickball.html
18 inch piece that I serged edges to use for cat beds. Not sure you can see the stitching but it is the best I have done free motion. I should have used a solid fabric but one of my goals this year is to clear out my old stuff from the stash! Even doing this small piece gave me a pain in the neck. I can quilt much longer on the frame without pain.

It's no small surgery, so I went through everything one more time today, step by step. Cut my shoulder open, rip out the scar tissue, tape stuff together, add filler, then caulk everything back up. Practice makes perfect and I can't afford to make stupid mistakes. I'll see everyone on the other side of the drug fantasies!

Practicing perspective, an area I need to improve in really well. The first try at this was a mess, but the second go was ok.
Panning practice for CharsShots as well as a dry run for the horsie. Good thing they don't know I ghosted off two of his legs in my attempt! This is definitely not a first-timer's sport (panning I mean. We had newbies' luck at the parimutuel window). I knew, after the fact, that I shot too slow. It was a nice bright day so I could have done better with my settings. Other attempts failed for other reasons but it was sure fun to try!
