I have to photograph everyone in front of this wall. It's just a given.
The wall will be gone soon though unfortunately. I heard the woman that bought the building is going to powerwash it and repaint it. Powerwashing of course will ruin the wonderful decay of the wall.

Ah, here we go, time for some more detail. Between 1996 and 1998, East Yorkshire Motor Services took delivery of a total 24 Optare Excels, also gaining one or two second-hand, if I remember correctly, to help bring about the low-floor revolution mainly in Hull. As you'll be able to see in this photograph, these were likely Hull's first 'proper' low-floor buses, and as a result, got funky branding paraphrasing the late Neil Armstrong that proclaimed "One small step low-floor bus... one small step for you". I will confess, I am very much a fan of the original Optare Excel design - pure 90s, with the small-headlights and the front curvature. Of course, by the end of it, it wasn't all sunshine and roses with the Excel, as it is said that the first-generation Excel had particular build-quality problems - hence why a lot were sent back under warranty. Thus, I suspect, the East Yorkshire Excel fleet quickly diminished, and as far as I'm aware, only only exists today in preservation. It looks a bit of a state at the minute, but I think all that might need doing is a quick powerwash before tackling the nitty gritty side of preservation.
Seen here when it probably wasn't falling to bits at the time, East Yorkshire's 253, a 1998 Optare Excel 1, is stopped at Hull Station after completing a working of the 62 service to the titular station.
