As you can probably tell from this photo, the paint washed off of huge parts of the walls when we power-washed it with Adam's machine. And that's a good thing. When you get all of the old, peeling paint off, it's like starting over from scratch. Hopefully, with a good primer and paint, it will be a long, long time before anybody has to paint this house again.
If it had taken ALL of the paint off, I would have been tempted to go with a stain, and leave it looking log cabin-ish like this. At least the wood is in good shape!
Volunteers from L’Oreal USA in Clark, NJ spent part of their 100th Anniversary celebration day doing service projects for different charites – including the American Red Cross. Two disaster vehicles – one from the Tri-County Chapter and one from the Colonial Crossroads Chapter got a L’Oreal “makeover” – a cleanup of the inside and outside, plus some needed electrical work and other fixes. Volunteers also cleaned and sanitized food and beverage storage containers used to transport food to disaster areas. Both Red Cross chapters were very grateful for the attention and hard work these volunteers provided.
