At John Wayne Airport in Irvine, California, large green and white signs indicate where users can plug in to AC power. I took photos of these because in many higher education classrooms it's not obvious where people can plug in a laptop. You can't afford to retrofit all your rooms with power to every seat or even every other seat, but you might be able to afford to put up signs that help the current situation.

Natural gas fueled power plant producing up to 2480 MW. Originally built in in 1949 by PG&E it is now owned by Dynergy of Houston, TX.
Around 1500 people from Mid-Wales and the borders of England gathered in Cardiff Bay and marched on the Senedd to protest at the Welsh Assembly Government's Technical Adice Note 8 which outlines planning for huge new windfarms and transmission by 100 miles of new pylons from Powys, Wales, into Shropshire, England. 4 of the leading campaigners marched six days to attend the rally.

I took this on a short trip on a friday night, june 6th 2008 to Hellisheiði with my friend, Heiða. Always something to shoot wherever you go... super power coming up from there, hot water for us... It's very loud there and the pipes and stuff are shaking a lot from the power coming up from our planet Earth...

This photo was taken October 1988. It doesn't seem possible that it's been 20 years! They no longer allow you to visit the old Light & Power Dam, so I'm glad I took a few photos while we were still allowed to explore.

These pictures were taken at an abandoned fossil-fuel power station in Charleroi.
Charleroi is a city located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. The metropoltian area has a total population of 522,522 by January 1, 2008, ranking it as the 4th most populous city in Belgium after Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent. After the Industrial Revolution, Charleroi benefited from the increased use of coals in the metallurgical industry. People from across Europe were attracted by the economic opportunities, and the population grew rapidly. Because after World War II the need for coals declined, Charleroi witnessed a general decline of its heavy industry. Poverty in the city increased. Charleroi has an unemployment rate of 26%. You'll find syringes and dumped garbage in public places.
Investing in the publicdevelopment is important for the city economics.

Two square crops in a row: maybe it's a new phase? All other crops didn't quite do it for me on this one...
These powerlines were the only things in miles around. Even the road only existed for their sake. Everything else was sand, some vegetation and lots of rock.
